This paper is the second one in the series Portraits of subjects of the educational process and is devoted to the second status subject of the educational process the modern student. Despite the fact that schoolchildren and students are presented as a single group of students, their portraits are analyzed progressively in order, on the one hand, to identify features characteristic of a particular age period, and on the other one, to trace the changes that have occurred in them over time. A feature of material selection for the study was the emphasis on the negative aspects of the portrait, identified by theorists and practitioners. The general portrait of the student revealed the following features: pragmatism, desire for independence, high pace of life, infantilism, clip thinking, desire to receive benefits without effort, willingness to put pressure on others, etc. According to the authors concept, consideration of the students portrait is formally constructed similarly to the teachers portrait presented in the first paper of the series, and also has an identical three-part structure, but with content relevant to the research subject. Key features are covered in three dimensions: professional is determined by the opinion of teachers and employers; personal is connected with family and family ties; public with school, friends, mass media (media), social networks.
M-Learning includes the possibility to learn anywhere and anytime, without a physical cable connection. This can be achieved through mobile and portable devices . The potential can be estimated considering the growing number of cellphones, PDAs and Smart Phones. Mobile Learning is a relatively new concept în study. This way of learning is designed for the people who can't go to schools for various resons. This could be: health problems that don't allow movement, mental problems, like the difficulty to learn as much as someone the same age, the distance between school and home. Some people preffer this type of study because it's time efficient, a very necessary trait în this dynamic buisness environment. These people can study while they travel by train, by bus, etc. The way these courses are seen by the people, using the m_learning technology, is the object of research în the US and în Europe and results gave the forums something to think about. Based on these results, we initiated a poll for the 2nd and 4th year students at the University of Automatics and Computers, and also at the University of Electronics and Telecomunications -at the Politechnics University of Bucharest. The essay presents the analysis of the results that lead to this question: "Is this a viable way of learning?" Acest lucru poate fi realizat prin intermediul dispozitivelor mobile si portabile. Potentialul poate fi estimat considerand numarul in crestere de telefoane mobile, PDA (personal digital assistant), telefoane inteligente folosite. Mobile learning este un concept relativ nou in domeniu invatarii. Acest mod de invatare este destinat persoanelor care nu pot merge la scoli din diferite motive. Acestea pot fi : anumite probleme de sanatate care nu permit deplasarea la institutii de invatamant, probleme mentale, cum ar fi greutate in a invata la fel ca cei de aceiasi varsta, distanta dintre locul in care se tin anumite cursuri si locul unde se locuieste. Anumite persoane prefera acest tip de invatare pentru ca scutesc timp, foarte necesar in ziua de azi in acest mediu dinamic al afacerilor. Drept urmare cei in cauza pot invata in tren, cand calatoresc intre localitari cu autocarul, etc. Modul în care sunt percepute aceste cursuri folosind tehnologia m_learning a constituit obiectul unor cercetări în Statele Unite precum si in Europa ajungându-se la rezultate care au dat de gândit forurilor competente. Pornind de la aceste rezultate, am iniţiat un sondaj în rândul studenţilor de anul 2 si 4 din cadrul Facultăţii de Automatică şi Calculatoare, precum şi din Facultatea de Electronică şi Telecomunicaţii -Universitatea Politehnică Bucureşti .
