Синтез нанокомпозитных материалов с полифункциональными свойствами представляет уникальную возможность для получения новых сорбентов. Создание композитов на основе наноразмерных ферритов и алюмосиликатов весьма перспективно, так как сорбционные свойства, каталитические и магнитные характеристики композитов превосходят эти параметры у ферритов и природных минералов. В работе показана возможность синтеза и использования в качестве сорбционного материала композита нонтронит/CoFe2O4. Синтез шпинели осуществляли одним из методов «мягкой химии» – методом цитратного горения. Использование нитрат-цитратного синтеза позволяет получать монофазные нанопорошки с однородной микроструктурой при меньших температурах и узким распределением частиц по размерам. Сравнивали сорбционную ёмкость по формальдегиду природного и кислотноактивированного нонтронита, чистой шпинели CoFe2O4 и нанокомпозита нонтронит /CoFe2O4. Алюмосиликат активировали раствором Н2SО4 в диапазоне концентраций 0.5-3М. Результатом кислотной обработки алюмосиликата является повышение удельной поверхности, размера и объёма пор, что происходит в результате выщелачивания октаэдрических катионов из промежуточного слоя минерала. По данным рентгенофлуоресцентного анализа (РФА) синтезированный образец феррита кобальта является полностью однофазным. Частицы CoFe2O4 имеют неправильную форму, выражена агломерация, размер частиц находится в диапазоне от 30 до 185 нм. Согласно данным просвечивающей электронной микроскопи, нанокомпозит представляет собой частицы нонтронита неправильной формы размером 10-50 нм с включениями отдельных частиц феррита кобальта размером 10-30 нм. В работе установлено, что сорбционная способность композита на 17% выше чем у природного алюмосиликата, однако значительно уступает способности кислотно-активированного нонтронита. Полученные изотермы адсорбции описываются уравнением Ленгмюра. Феррит кобальта имеет наиболее слабую сорбционную активность к формальдегиду. Вероятно, использование для синтеза активированного нонтронита, позволит получить композит с улучшенными сорбционными характеристиками.
