Термін «травма» часто використовується для вивчення будь-якої форми хворобливого та фруструючого досвіду. Дискурс травми має безпосереднє відношення до презентації мовцем певної травматичної події та її оцінки. Для розуміння генези, дискурсивних механізмів і засобів подолання міжмовного конфлікту вивчаються інтерв'ю, пости в соціальних мережах, публіцистичні статті, інші види усних та письмових висловлювань, у яких йдеться про пережитий досвід мовної травми. Особливу увагу у статті приділено двомовним текстам та способам презентації у них мовного конфлікту. Зроблено спробу встановити і проаналізувати декілька способів репрезентації травматичного досвіду війни лінгвістичними засобами, представлених у двох типах наративу: наратив про травму і наратив травми. Наратив про мовну травму містить більш-менш об’єктивний опис власного мовного досвіду, обставин, які могли сприяти або стали причиною травми тощо. Він хоча і може бути емоційно забарвленим, але загалом не має якихось специфічних ознак, які б можна було вважати маркерами мовної травми. До травм, завданих мові з метою політичних маніпуляцій масовою свідомістю, автори статті відносять табуювання лексики, що має безпосереднє відношення до сучасної ситуації військового конфлікту, заміна її евфемізмами, покликаними пом'якшити, завуалювати, нівелювати і, зрештою, деформувати реальність. У дослідженні окреслені основні напрямки подальшого вивчення цієї складної, багаторівневої проблеми, яка тісно пов’язана з самоідентифікацією особистості із засобами маніпуляції масовою свідомістю, з лінгвістичними інструментами політичного впливу та психологічної агресії. У подальшій роботі планується розглянути різні види мовної девіації, механізми їхнього утворення та функціонування у площині російсько-українського мовного протистояння.
