Панкреатит – це запалення підшлункової залози, що в собак найчастіше має гострий перебіг. Ухворих тварин виявляються блювання, кольки, скавчання, неприродна поза під час стояння, інколипроноси. Дослідження проводили в умовах клініки ветеринарної медицини міста Миколаєва. Мета досліджень – аналіз діагностики собаки у разі гострого панкреатиту. Ми дослідили і навели випадок з клінічної практики – це собака породи боксер віком 5 років масою тіла 17 кг, хвора на гострий панкреатит. Описано різні методи діагностики для постановки правильного діагнозу. В результаті проведеного обстеження брали до уваги дані анамнезу хворої тварини. Виявлено основну причину захворювання ‒ безконтрольна годівля (необмежений доступ до годівниці, у якій постійно був корм), яка спричинює надмірне споживання собакою кормів. Визначено зміни клінічного стану собаки та встановлено характерні ознаки (гіпертермію, тахіпное, тахікардію, невластиву позу під час стояння, кволість). У разі гематологічних досліджень діагностовано «запальну анемію» і помірний лейкоцитоз. Під час аналізу біохімічних показників виявлено гіперферментемію альфа-амілази, яка була майже удвічі вище за показник норми для собак. Підвищення активності в сироватці крові цього ферменту реєструється у разі ураження клітин підшлункової залози, особливо у разі гострого панкреатиту. Водночас діагностували білірубінемію та підвищення активності трансаміназ (АлАТ і АсАТ). Ультрасонографічно встановлено зміни розмірів та структури підшлункової залози. Візуалізація органу під час сонографії була нечітка та гіпоехогенна, що підтверджує набряк його тканин. На отримані результати доцільно зважати ветеринарам-практикам за необхідності диференціювання захворювань підшлункової залози.
