The article is devoted to the study of the infl uence of microwave electromagnetic radiation (UHF EMP) on the properties of sewage sludge. The possibility of using microwave radiation for their processing is shown. The results of experiments confi rming the positive eff ect of the process under study on the degree and speed of compaction of a mixture of precipitation and activated sludge, improvement of their moisture yield, an increase in the yield of heavy metal impurities in decanted water, a decrease in the specifi c resistance of fi ltration and capillary suction of the sediment, precipitation. A hypothesis is proposed for the eff ect of UHF EMP on wastewater sludge.
The paper discusses advantages and disadvantages of existing methods for determining water quality. It proposes to use electro-kinetic capacity as a key indicator together with cluster analysis of obtained results. It is shown, that according to such indicators as pH, turbidity, alkalinity, general rigidity, content of ion Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , the quality of drinking water in Samara is stable and consistent with existing standards. The research reveals some zeta-potential (ZP) dependence on water pollution density. It was shown that the link between zeta-potential and various kinds of contamination in drinking water is underexplored and requires further detailed study.
Were identifi ed based on the changes in ζ-potential from physical and chemical indicators of source and waste waters. It is established that in the process of washing vehicles changed signifi cantly such water quality parameters as its color, turbidity and alkalinity. Change the values of other indicators were within the statistical errors. It is proved that the increase of colour of water (and, probably, its turbidity) the range of values of the zeta-potential (ζ-potential) has narrowed. In the waste water compared to the original, the range of alkalinity values was much wider, but with a smaller range of changes in ζ-potential.
0,9. The results of studies of physicochemical composition of drinking water and the magnitude of its Zeta potential establishing the degree of dependency of these indicators. Samples were taken in winter and summer. It is shown that variation of values for such parameters as alkalinity, hardness, contents of Ca 2+ and Mg 2+ slightly on the individual areas of sampling. It is established that values of indic ators of quality of drinking water from underground water intakes was more stable than from a surface source. In artesian water values the Zeta potential (ζ-potential) was 3-7 times lower than in the Volga. The alkalinity of the water year was slightly above winter. There were relations between the value of the Zeta potential and alkalinity of the water as well as turbidity and hardness. In most cases, the magnitude of the accuracy of the approximation was greater than 0.9.
