Представлены результаты радиоэкологических исследований птиц Баренцева моря, проведенных на базе Мурманского морского биологического института. Выявлены различия в накоплении радиоактивного цезия в баренцевоморских птицах разных видов в зависимости от их экологии. Наибольшие концентрации 137Cs (10,5-17,3 Бк/кг сырой массы) в печени обнаружены в чайках, за исключением бургомистров. Содержание радиоцезия в птицах других видов было невысоким - 3,0-5,3 Бк/кг сырой массы. Сопоставление данных по аккумуляции инкорпорированного в печени птиц 137Cs с результатами изучения содержимого их желудков показало, что концентрация 137Cs была низкой у птиц, основу рациона которых составляют корма, добываемые в море. Птицы, наиболее тесно связанные с Баренцевым морем и близлежащими районами Северной Атлантики, содержат незначительные количества 137Cs. Морские и серебристые чайки в связи с особенностями миграционного поведения и большим разнообразием пищевого рациона, в котором значительную долю составляют наземные виды кормов, не могут использоваться в качестве индикаторов состояния баренцевоморской экосистемы. Предпринята попытка определить характер и механизм ответных реакций организма птиц на радиоактивное загрязнение по интенсивности перекисного окисления липидов (ПОЛ), содержанию антиоксидантов (каталазы, каротиноидов и витамина А), модифицированной форме альбумина, а также по микроядерным нарушениям в эритроцитах. Возможно, накопление 137Cs в печени птиц может вызывать ряд неспецифических негативных изменений в организме животных. В печени птиц с повышенным содержанием 137Cs отмечено увеличение интенсивности ПОЛ и уменьшение активности каталазы. Повышенное содержание модифицированной формы альбумина в плазме крови и микроядерные нарушения в эритроцитах птиц могут свидетельствовать о стрессовой реакции организма животных в ответ на техногенное радиоактивное загрязнение среды.
На основе массива многолетних данных выполнен ретроспективный анализ динамики концентраций техногенных радионуклидов в воде и биоте Баренцева и Карского морей. Приведено содержание Cs, Sr и Pu в различных районах в разные временные периоды. Основу спектра техногенных радионуклидов в водах арктических морей составляют изотопы Cs и Sr. Охарактеризованы особенности формирования фона этих радионуклидов в Баренцево-Карском морском регионе. По данным исследований 2017-2018 гг. выявлено, что в свободных от инфраструктуры атомного флота губах Мурманского побережья (Ивановская, Териберская, Зеленецкая, Ярнышная, Порчниха) и Кольского залива (губы Тоня, Белокаменная, районы мысов Ретинский, Мишуков, Абрам) концентрации Cs соответствовали уровню загрязненности вод прибрежного течения Баренцева моря и варьировали от 1,3 до 2,5 Бк/м. В восточной части Баренцева моря - в районе Центральной впадины, Западно-Новоземельского, Гусиного, Новоземельского желобов, Северо-Восточного плато - содержание Cs в воде не превышало 1-2 Бк/м. Концентрация Sr в водах Баренцева моря составляла 0,4-3,7 Бк/м. В Карском море наиболее загрязнены Cs и Sr поверхностные воды прибрежной зоны южной и юго-западной частей по сравнению с северной частью. Современный уровень загрязнения воды, баренцевоморских рыб, водорослей-макрофитов и донных беспозвоночных низкий. Наблюдается стабильное уменьшение концентраций техногенных изотопов Cs и Sr по сравнению с периодом максимального загрязнения в 1960-1970-е гг. до минимально возможных в ядерную эпоху.
