Исследованы структурные состояния Gd2O3 и Gd2O3 : 2%Eu3+, синтезированные глицин-нитратным методом. В результате такого синтеза кроме известной кубической модификации оксида гадолиния образуются две новые неизвестные ранее фазы. Первая фаза образуется в процессе длительной выдержки при комнатной температуре исходной нанокристаллической кубической структуры, полученной при температуре синтеза 650oC. Вторая фаза имеет орторомбическую сингонию и образуется в процессе или длительного синтеза при температуре 650oC, или кратковременных синтезах при более высокой температуре. Обе фазы при дальнейших высокотемпературных отжигах переходят в традиционную кубическую модификацию. Кроме того, обнаружен эффект структурного заражения, который состоит в том, что при отжигах легированной ионами Eu3+ кубической фазы Gd2O3 в интервале 800-1100oC происходит ее частичный переход в моноклинную фазу, которая исчезает при дальнейшем повышении температуры отжига. Проведены рентгеновские дифрактометрические исследования структурного состояния простых редкоземельных оксидов Gd2O3, Sm2O3 и Eu2O3, синтезированных разными методами, на первых этапах кристаллообразования. Обнаружено, что первой кристаллической фазой этих соединений в нанокристаллическом состоянии является не известная кубическая модификация с пространственной группой симметрии S.G. Ia-3 (206), а тетрагональные фазы, пространственные группы которых не установлены в силу малого количества сильных рефлексов в наносостоянии. Показано также, что такие же тетрагональные фазы образуются в промышленных порошках этих соединений, подвергнутых длительному хранению.
