Introduction. The central place in the system of personality relations is occupied by the attitude towards oneself. Its violations are the main link in the development of neurotic disorders and adaptation disorders. There was proved the connection between the attitude to the time perspective and the emotional-affective status, one of the indicators of which is the attitude towards oneself. In this regard, the purpose of the work was to study the attitude towards onуself and to the personal perspective of the patients of a cosmetological clinic with different levels of mental adaptation.Materials and methods. Patients of a cosmetological clinic with different level of mental adaptation detected using the «Test of neuropsychic adaptation» (NPA), were compared in terms of self-attitude and self-esteem studied using the author’s structured interview and S.Ya.Rubinstein’s technique (1999); the same groups were compared accordind to the indicators of the technique of «Semantic time differential» (STD) characterizing the attitude of a person to the time perspective [10]. The were used statistical methods of data analysis (Pearson χ2 and ANOVA, included in the statistical packages SPSS v. 25.0).Results. Among patients of the cosmetological clinic 54,1% have a reduced level of mental adaptation; 45,9% of women have no significant adaptation disorders. Groups of women with a reduced and nonreduced level of mental adaptation differ in the general indicator NPA (М= -1,16+0,15, М=3,20+0,11 p=0,000), practically do not differ in socio-demographic and clinical characteristics, but statistically significantly differ in all studied psychological characteristics: self-esteem, attitude towards oneself as a person, attitude towards one’s psychical «Ego», confidence in one’s external attractiveness, attitude towards the present, pas, and future. It is concluded that a decrease in the level of mental adaptation in a patient of cosmetological clinic is associated not only with a change in the system of significant personality relationships, but also due to violations of the emotional-affective sphere.Conclusion. Prospects of research related to the study of the dynamics of self-esteem of attitude towards oneself and the perception of a time perspective in the process of cosmetological correction of facial skin defects, as well as the structure of the personality of women seeking cosmetic help.
Summary. In order to study the correlation of clinical-biological and socio-psychological characteristics of women with cosmetological problems of the skin of the face using a complex of methods of clinical, clinical-psychological and psychometric diagnostics, 110 patients of the cosmetology clinic were studied and were divided into four diagnostic groups («Gravitational ptosis»,»Mimic wrinkles»,»Acne»,»Skin dehydration»). The average age of the sample was 35.64 ± 1.11 years. The specific objectives of the study were to study the relationship between age, clinical and psychological characteristics of patients; the effectiveness of cosmetological treatment and the psychological characteristics of the patients; the degree of influence of the cosmetological problem on the vital activity and psychological characteristics of the patients; attitude towards oneself and other psychological characteristics of women with facial skin defects.Based on the analysis of special literature and the results of our own research, it is shown that it is necessary to study the relationship of psychological and clinical-biological factors for the individualization of the process of cosmetological correction of the facial skin.A statistically significant relationship was established between age and clinical diagnosis, between age and psychological characteristics of patients. It has been proven that subjective satisfaction with the results of treatment positively correlates with extraversion and self-confidence, as well as with an objective assessment of the effectiveness of treatment, which in turn is interrelated with patient satisfaction with their social and professional status, as well as with the internal orientation of the personality - factors that contribute to compliance. and partnership in the treatment process. It was revealed: the higher the severity of the facial skin defect, the more self-doubt, inability to cooperate and cooperate in the personality structure, and the lower the expert assessment of the effectiveness of treatment.
Introduction. In the field of aesthetic medicine, there is a lack of psychological research despite the obvious impact of cosmetic defects on the emotional state and social functioning of a person. Only a few studies indicate psychological maladaptation in patients of a cosmetology clinic, which is reflected in the frequency of the occurrence of anxiety, depression and personality disorders exceeding their levels in population. The objective was to identify psychosocial factors associated with the risk of psychological maladaptation in female patients of the cosmetology clinic. Methods and materials. To achieve the goal, female patients (n=161, mean age was 39.53±0.86 years) were studied using the author’s structured interview and 7 psychodiagnostic methods: «Neuropsychic Adaptation Test» (NPA), «Social Frustration Level» (SFL), «Visual Analogue Self-Esteem Scale» (VASES), «Semantic Time Differential» (STD), «Perceived Stress Scale» (PSS-10), «Well-Being Index» (WHO-5), «Quality of Life Satisfaction Questionnaire» (QOL). Groups of female patients without psychological maladaptation (group 1, n=74) and those with psychological maladaptation (group 2, n=87), selected on the basis of the final NPA test score were compared. Results. The results showed a statistically significant predominance in group 2 compared to group 1 of the frequency of emotionally neutral relationships with their own children, of living alone, as well as dissatisfaction in significant areas of life, especially in the material economic sphere, in the sphere of self-accepting as a personality and one’s physical «Ego», in the sphere of attitude to past and present life. In group 2, higher rates of perceived stress and frequency of psychotraumatic situations in anamnesis as well as lower rates of general psychological well-being and satisfaction with the quality of life were revealed. Conclusion. The factors influencing the psychological maladaptation in female patients of the cosmetology clinic were identified. The prospects of the study associated with the determination of the most informative factors for the prognosis of psychological adaptation based on the analysis on not only psychological but also individual and personal characteristics in female patients of the cosmetology clinic were indicated.
Background. Patients seeking cosmetic help, most commonly, haven`t only defects in appearance, in particular, facial skin, but also experience certain psychological problems in this regard. On the other hand, the reaction to the performed cosmetic correction of the mentioned defects depends, including on the patients psychological characteristics. The study of the correlation between clinical and psychological characteristics should contribute to the individualization of the cosmetological correction process and optimization of the patient life quality. Aims. To establish the correlation between age, clinical and psychological characteristics of women with cosmetic problems of the facial skin. Materials and methods. Using the methods of psychological diagnostics, we examined 110 women who received cosmetic assistance. Semi-quantitative method was used to assess the cosmetic problem intensity, the duration of its existence and the effect of the correction performed. Clinical and psychological research was carried out using the author's structured interview, which questions were aimed at fixing both the formal social positions of the patients and the characteristics of the system of significant relationships. Psychometric research was carried out using standardized questionnaires in order to identify a wide range of personality characteristics. In the course of statistical processing of the results, a frequency analysis of the gradations of nominative and rank signs was carried out using Pearson's 2, as well as a correlation analysis of clinical and psychological characteristics using the Spearman -test. Results. The author traced the statistical correlation between the degree of manifestation of the cosmetic problem and its influence on the psychological state of patients, as well as between the degree of their satisfaction with its solution and a number of personal characteristics and attitudes. Conclusions. The assumption was confirmed that the effect of treatment is determined not only by clinical factors and the possibilities of modern cosmetology, but also by psychological factors, among which the motivational orientation and activity of the individual, which form the basis of patient compliance, are of decisive importance.
