На основі методики прогнозування масштабів зараження при руйнуванні хімічно небезпечних об'єктів сформовані алгоритми інформаційної моделі хімічної обстановки при довгостроковому та аварійному прогнозуванні.В умовах сучасної хімізації промисловості виникає небезпека виникнення аварій з небезпечно-хімічними речовинами (НХР), як на об'єктах виробничої діяльності (ОВД), так і на транспорті під час перевезення НХР. Можливі наслідки руйнувань (аварій) хімічно-небезпечних об'єктів (ХНО) змінюють умови будьяких дій в результаті виникнення небезпечної наземної та повітряної хімічної обстановки. Наземна хімічна обстановка, як правило, виникає внаслідок дії на об'єкт вторинної хмари хімічно-небезпечних речовин. Повітряна хімічна обстановка формується від первинної хмари [1].
