Статья посвящена крупномасштабному исследования пространства малого города Зубцова Тверской области. Теоретической основой работы стала концептуальная идея о социально-географическом пространстве. В статье предпринята попытка систематизации пространственного выражения городских проблем. Особое внимание уделено структурным особенностям социально-географического пространства Зубцова. Город обладает рассеченным сложным пространством, которое сложилось под влиянием двух относительно крупных рек - Волги и Вазузы. В статье проведен анализ влияния пространственной структуры на устройство сферы услуг и размещения ареалов концентрации населения. С помощью ретроспективного анализа установлен факт дрейфа основного ареала обслуживания из исторической части на территорию позднесоветского микрорайона. На основе полевых исследований составлен ментальный портрет города и его отдельных вернакулярных районов. The article is devoted to a large-scale study of the space of the small city of Zubtsov, Tver region. The theoretical basis of the work was the conceptual idea of socio-geographical space. The article attempts to systematize the spatial expression of urban problems. Special attention is paid to the structural features of the socio-geographical space of Zubtsov. The city has a dissected complex space, which was formed under the influence of two relatively large rivers - the Volga and the Vazuza. The article analyzes the influence of spatial structure on the structure of the service sector and the placement of areas of population concentration. With the help of a retrospective analysis, the fact of the drift of the main service area from the historical part to the territory of the late Soviet microdistrict was established. Based on field research, a mental portrait of the city and its individual vernacular districts has been compiled.
