There is a great deal of research focusing on foreign language anxiety (FLA). Though it is widely conceived as an obvious factor in foreign language learning, yet there are many inconsistent conclusions. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to summarize the most relevant information and research findings on FLA causes and consequences from the very beginning of its study in 1970s up to the present day.
The aim of this study is to describe a proposal of a concept draft of teachers’ training at universities which accepts new needs of the educational reality in the context of transformation of regional education in Slovakia. The draft is based on an analysis of knowledge about the current status of undergraduate training of secondary school teachers within the secondary education in the Slovak Republic and an international comparison.
The aim of the theoretical study is to analyze philosophical and social aspects that determine changes in the aims of education in the context of applying of the absolvents in the praxis and as the end result of social inclusion of the absolvents. Intention of the authors is also to raise public awareness to the trends of segregation of the education in the educational scope and emphasize the need of intensive care of cultivation of personal and social potential of students as primary requirement of their social inclusion and versatility. Zámerom autoriek je tiež upriamiť pozornosť pedagogickej verejnosti na trendy oddeľovania sa výchovy a vzdelávania v edukačnom rámci a zdôrazniť potrebu intenzívnejšie venovať pozornosť kultivácii osobnostného a sociálneho potenciálu žiakov ako primárnej požiadavky ich sociálnej inklúzie a uplatnenia. Dôraz je kladený na charakteristiku premien vzdelávania v kontexte globalizácie spoločnosti, ponímanie múdrosti ako predpokladu životného úspechu, aspekty výchovy v konfrontácii základov personálnych kompetencií, filozofiu sprostredkovania v edukačnom procese ako predpokladu úspešnej sociálnej inklúzie a v záverečnej časti sa sústredí na personálne kompetencie potrebné pre uplatnenie na trhu práce.
Subject of the study is presentation of the results of verification of proposed project of education academically gifted students of secondary grammar schools "Program Sophia" for selfconsciousness of academicaly gifted students. The key source of the program was Model ALM -Model of autonomous student from G. Betts and J. Kercher (1999) apropriate for ISCED 2 and 3. The results of the experimental verification proved positive impact of Program Sophia on selfconsciousness of academicaly gifted students of secondary grammar schools that is why we allow ourselves to state that Project Sophia may be primarily applied to didactic work with academicaly gifted students of secondary grammar schools. Project facilitates in accordance with the research premises facilitates positive changes in the area of selfconsciousness of academicaly gifted students in all researched areas, i.e. physical, emotional, social, area of, selfcriticism, as well as in the creative and motivational area. Kľúčovým východiskovým zdrojom programu bol Model ALM -Model autonómneho žiaka G. Betts a J. Kercher (1999) vhodný pre ISCED 2 a 3. Výsledky overovania dokázali pozitívny vplyv Programu Sophia na sebavnímanie akademicky nadaných žiakov na osemročnom gymnáziu, preto si dovoľujeme konštatovať, že Projekt SOPHIA možno primárne aplikovať pri didaktickej práci s akademicky nadanými žiakmi na osemročných gymnáziách. Projekt v súlade s výskumnými predpokladmi facilituje pozitívne zmeny v oblasti sebavnímania akademicky nadaných žiakov, a to vo všetkých skúmaných oblastiach, t. j. fyzickej, emocionálnej, v oblasti sociability, v oblasti sebahodnotenia kritiky a sebakritiky, v kreatívnej a rovnako i motivačnej oblasti.
The majority of people who have experienced institutionalized education have found it extremely laborious, slow and a necessarily repetitive process. The authors of this paper focus on and present possibilities for making the teaching of a foreign language more effective through mind mapping: the implementation of neuro-linguistic knowledge and mind maps into the learning process.
