The article presents the current status of questions concerning the diagnosis of pathological conditions for forensic practitioners. Particular attention is paid to biophysical research methods, which have evidential accuracy, objectivity, reproducibility and fast results. In our opinion, a promising direction is the study of bodily fluids, including the vitreous body, is laser polarimetry techniques that will help identify and introduce the newest optical criteria for diagnosing time of death.
