Представлені результати досліджень формування експлуатаційних запасів підземних вод у тріщинуватих кристалічних породах Немирівського родовища із застосуванням математичного моделювання. Мета роботи полягала у визначенні потенційних можливостей забезпечення надійно захищеними питними підземними водами населення м. Немирів, у тому числі і за рахунок додаткової розвідки та освоєння намічених за геофізичними даними перспективних ділянок. Була доведена функціональна відповідність створеної моделі природно-антропогенним умовам. Виконано прогнозну оцінку експлуатаційних запасів питних підземних вод та показано потенціал їх можливого нарощування. Оцінено вплив прогнозного водовідбору на довкілля та розглянуті питання, пов’язані з якістю питних підземних вод. Рекомендовано провести розвідку підземних вод на перспективних ділянках вищих за течією р. Устя від м. Немирів (Немирівська та Муховецька), а також у долині р. Південний Буг (Бузька, Шелудківська).
Доповідь присвячено огляду проблеми забезпечення населення України якісною водою з підземних родовищ, яка особливо актуалізувалася сьогодні, в умовах активних бойових дій під час агресії РФ проти України. Зазначено, що в НАН України є вагомі теоретичні і практичні напрацювання, спрямовані на використання альтернативних джерел водопостачання та забезпечення їх безперебійної роботи, що сприятиме мінімізації наслідків можливих техногенних катастроф, пов’язаних з руйнуванням об’єктів та комунікацій соціального значення.
У доповіді розглянуто сучасний стан наукового обґрунтування створення геологічного сховища радіоактивних відходів в Україні та наведено останні результати проведених науково-дослідних робіт з визначення перспективних площ у кристалічних породах Чорнобильської зони відчуження і на прилеглих територіях. Проаналізовано міжнародний досвід спорудження глибинних геологічних сховищ радіоактивних відходів. Обговорено потенційні ризики від зволікання з проведенням робіт з вибору майданчика для розміщення геологічного сховища радіоактивних відходів.
