Розглянуто та проаналізовано вплив величини зазору циліндро-поршневого сполучення роторно-поршневого пневмодвигуна РПД-4,4/17,5 нової конструкції на його працездатність і надійність. Аналіз впливу зазору було виконано з урахуванням матеріалу, з якого виготовлено сполучні пари (поршень і робочий циліндр), та їх робочої температури. Як матеріал для виготовлення поршнів роторно-поршневого пневмодвигуна у першому випадку було обрано алюмінієвий ливарний сплав АК12М2МгН, а у другому-чавун із шароподібним графітом ВЧ 50. Як матеріал для виготовлення робочого циліндра (фактично-ротора) роторно-поршневого пневмодвигуна в обох випадках було обрано чавун із шароподібним графітом ВЧ 50. Діапазон змінення температури було обрано, базуючись на попередніх експериментальних дослідженнях дослідного зразка роторно-поршневого пневмодвигуна РПД-4,4/17,5. Так, обраний діапазон температур складає від-25 до 100 о С. Мінімальне значення температури обумовлене низькою температурою відпрацьованого повітря у випускному ресивері пневмодвигуна, а максимальне-температурою можливого підігріву стиснутого повітря на вході у впускний ресивер пневмодвигуна. Розроблено практичні рекомендації щодо вибору оптимального зазору циліндро-поршневого сполучення роторно-поршневого пневмодвигуна РПД-4,4/17,5 та встановлено, що номінальний торцевий зазор, який забезпечує нормальну роботу в діапазоні температур від-25…100 о С, для чавунного поршня й чавунного робочого циліндра складає 25 мкм, а для варіанта виготовлення поршня з алюмінієвого сплаву-33 мкм. Запропоновані торцеві зазори не перевищують рекомендованих значень для подібних сполучних деталей подібних агрегатів. Правильність обраних торцевих зазорів сполучних деталей також була підтверджена стендовими випробуваннями дослідного зразка роторно-поршневого пневмодвигуна з подальшою дефектацією деталей. Визначено, що перевищення температури у 100 о С для варіанта виготовлення поршня з алюмінієвого сплаву призводить до задиру поверхні робочого циліндра, заклинювання поршня з подальшим обривом рухомих ланок та пошкодженням бобишок поршня.
Досить інтенсивними темпами розвивається напрямок застосування енергії стисненого повітря у різних галузях промисловості та транспорті. Найбільшим недоліком при використанні пневмодвигунів є низька ефективність застосування енергії робочого тіла, тобто питома витрата повітря на кіловат енергії, що виробляється. Подані конструкція та основні параметри нового зразка роторно-поршневого двигуна 12РПД-4,4/1,75 з регульованим золотниковим розподілом повітря. Двигун має дванадцять рівномірно розміщених циліндрів, що забезпечує врівноваженість двигуна та можливість пуску при будь-якому положенні ротора. Запропонована схема механізму руху забезпечує досить просту та компактну конструкцію роторнопоршневого двигуна, при цьому значення відносного мертвого об'єму εо обумовлене лише технологічними зазорами та є незначним (εо = 0,015). Конструкція двигуна передбачає наявність центрального регулюючого кулачкового вала, поворот якого дає змогу регулювати фази газорозподілу та режими роботи двигуна за рахунок ступеня наповнення циліндра ε1 у досить широкому діапазоні. Так, значення ступеня наповнення циліндра знаходяться у межах 0,135…0,175. При зменшенні значення ступеня наповнення ε1 спостерігається зниження питомої витрати стисненого повітря при деякому падінні середнього індикаторного тиску внаслідок зменшення площі індикаторної діаграми. Виконані первинна оцінка та аналіз впливу основних параметрів пневмодвигуна на ефективність енергоперетворення в роторно-поршневому двигуні нової конструкції.
