APPLICATION OF PRODUCTION FUNCTIONS IN FORECASTINGABSTRACT. Forecasting is one of the main areas of practical application of mathematical models that are used for analysis and forecasting of regularity of the processes under consideration both at micro-and macro levels (for example, dependence of product output on costs of main production resources, correlation of productive assets volumes, labor expenses and other resources, production planning, etc.). The article describes the possibilities of using production functions for forecasting gross domestic product of the Russian Federation on the basis of data during the period from 2000 to 2013 in view of the number employees in the Russian Federation subjects one-year average and fixed assets in view of overall accounting value at the end of year.
