The article presents the geometrical parameters of the scourges of the threshing drums of combine harvesters. Three main factors of crushing and microtrauma of oilseeds are established when sunflower thrashing. The positions of the sunflower in the threshing chamber, and the forces acting on it are considered. They are obtained expressions for the law of change in the impulse of the threshing chamber system during basket threshing, determining the number of blows of pests per unit of time, the time of the impact of the scourge on the threshed mass, the supply of baskets to the threshing chamber.
One of the reasons for the crushing of oilseeds when threshing in the threshing-separating device is substantiated. It has been established that the damage to the integrity of the shell of oilseeds can be influenced by the acceleration of the movement of oilseeds in the threshing chamber. The change in the magnitude of the acceleration is capable of influencing the material of the scourge. Mathematical expressions are given to determine the density of the threshed mass, the probability of crushing oilseeds due to crushing with whips, and the pressure inside the mass flow. They are given an expression for crushing oilseeds from the geometrical parameters of a scourge, an expression for the width of the groove of a scourge with a minimum value of crushing, the energy conservation law for one sunflower seed, the stiffness coefficient of the system, as well as the expression for shock acceleration of oilseeds.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
