В статье освещаются изменения в жизни населения мексиканского штата Юкатан, вызванные пандемией COVID-19. Приводятся данные о государственных структурах, задействованных в разработке стратегий и протоколов, рассказывается о принятых правовых актах. В статье также описывается, каким образом менялись стратегии по мере распространения заболевания, какие санкции вводились властями для поддержания порядка и снижения темпов распространения инфекции. Авторы сообщают о методах, используемых в Мексике для выявления зараженных, системе мониторинга «эпидемиологический светофор», оценивают степень готовности системы здравоохранения к чрезвычайным обстоятельствам.
