A retrospective analysis of the epizootic situation with foot-and-mouth disease in Krasnodar region has been provided in 2013. Results of study indentified, type A, Asia topotype, Iran 05 genetic lines, SIS-10 sub-linage has been identified for foot-and-mouth disease. Laboratory tests proved that over 75% of animals were immune in the blood collected after 60-80 days vaccination. Field efficiency of foot-andmouth disease vaccines does not always correspond to the characteristics obtained during the quality control of the vaccine manufacturer. If master seed strain matches epizootic isolates, mass vaccination creates herd immunity, prevents an outbreak, and stabilizes the epizootic process that has begun. Taking into consideration the threat of penetration of the virus into the territory of Russia, regular vaccination of ruminant animals and control of the level of vaccine-induced antibodies are required in the buffer zone.
The analysis of the results of epizootic investigations carried out in the foci of foot and mouth disease and data from the study of the role of meat, meat products, meat processing waste and non-neutralized kitchen waste in the spread of the foot and mouth disease virus in a number of European countries (England, Belgium, Greece, Italy, Germany and Switzerland), the Soviet Union (Kyrgyz SSR, Latvian SSR, Magadan, Sakhalin, Leningrad and Kamchatka regions), Russian Federation (1995). Outbreaks of foot and mouth disease in Mongolia in February - March were caused by the transport of susceptible animals infected with foot and mouth disease virus and their slaughter products on the eve of the religious New Year holiday [1, 10]. Recently, the Russian Federation is free from foot and mouth disease. However, cases of the introduction of the FMD virus from neighboring countries unfavorable for this infection are recorded [8]. The greatest danger is posed by meat obtained from the slaughter of animals during the incubation period, as well as from vaccinated cattle infected with the FMD virus [2830]. The article presents the results of the indication of the FMD virus in samples from different organs and tissues infected with the FMD virus of animals. Information about the modes of disinfection of meat and meat products is presented.
Leukemia occupies a leading place in the structure of infectious diseases of cattle, as it causes significant economic damage to livestock and poses a serious social danger. The dynamics of infection with the bovine leukemia virus (LV) have been studied in the Krasnodar Territory for ten years. A decrease in the level of infection of animals with the bovine leukemia virus was noted at livestock enterprises in the public sector and in breeding farms. In the individual sector, due to an imperfect animal insurance system, farmers try to keep IDT+ animals on their farms. Some progress in reducing the infection of cattle with the leukemia virus in the Krasnodar Territory has been achieved through a whole range of measures. This includes the publication of relevant regulations governing the solution of this problem by the state and regional authorities, the coordination of recreational activities by scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences and employees of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, propaganda work among the population and heads of livestock enterprises, and the introduction by veterinary specialists of modern methods of the early diagnosis of bovine leukemia virus. The order of the Ministry of Agriculture No. 156 dated 03/24/2021 became a timely document to reduce the time of the recovery of cattle from leukemia in Russia. It significantly tightens the requirements to the terms of recovery, regulates the introduction of new methods of the early diagnosis of leukemia. As a part of the implementation of the research topic, the authors proposed a new diagnostic kit for the detection of bovine LV provirus in finished dairy products, which makes it possible to accelerate the identification of infected animals in farms that supply products to dairy plants, and in general, accelerates the elimination of leukemia in Russia.
