Η έρευνα «Αξιολόγηση της Ικανοποίησης των Εξυπηρετούμενων από τις Υπηρεσίες του ΚΕ.Θ.Ε.Α» πραγματοποιήθηκε το 1999 στο Κέντρο Θεραπείας Εξαρτημένων Ατόμων (ΚΕ.Θ.Ε.Α.) εξετάζοντας το βαθμό ικανοποίησης των αποδεκτών των υπηρεσιών του από το σύνολο των δράσεων απεξάρτησης που παρέχει. Οι αποδέκτες των υπηρεσιών που απάντησαν στο ειδικά μελετημένο αυτοχορηγούμενο ερωτηματολόγιο ήταν 1.328 άτομα. Υψηλά ποσοστά ικανοποίησης καταγράφονται και στις δέκα θεματικές ενότητες που εξετάζονται. Ο βαθμός ικανοποίησης φαίνεται να σχετίζεται με το χρόνο παραμονής των αποδεκτών στα θεραπευτικά προγράμματα, ενώ οι υποδείξεις των συμμετεχόντων αποτελούν εύστοχες παρατηρήσεις που εντάσσονται με συγκεκριμένες διαδικασίες στη συζήτηση για τη χάραξη πολιτικής και ανάπτυξης των υπηρεσιών του φορέα. Κύρια σημεία, τα οποία φαίνεται να βάρυναν την επεξεργασία πολιτικής του οργανισμού στη βάση των αποτελεσμάτων, αποτελούν το σχέδιο ανάπτυξης υπηρεσιών του ΚΕ.Θ.Ε.Α. τόσο για ευρύτερη γεωγραφική κάλυψη όσο και για την κάλυψη νέων αναγκών που προκύπτουν από το φαινόμενο της τοξικοεξάρτησης, η επεξεργασία νέας επικοινωνιακής πολιτικής του οργανισμού στη σχέση του με την ευρύτερη κοινότητα καθώς επίσης και ειδικά θέματα πολιτικής που αφορούν τις επιμέρους θεραπευτικές δραστηριότητες. Στη μελέτη αυτή παρουσιάζεται η έρευνα «Αξιολόγηση της Ικανοποίησης των Εξυπηρετούμενων από τις Υπηρεσίες του ΚΕ.Θ.Ε.Α.» και οι επιπτώσεις στη χάραξη πολιτικής του οργανισμού. Η παρουσίαση αποτελείται από τρία μέρη: ένα εισαγωγικό με σύντομη αναφορά στο επιστημολογικό πλαίσιο στο οποίο εντάσσεται η αξιολόγηση της ικανοποίησης των αποδεκτών υπηρεσιών, τα αποτελέσματα που προέκυψαν από την έρευνα πεδίου και τέλος τα συμπεράσματα και ο τρόπος αξιοποίησης των συμπερασμάτων για τη χάραξη πολιτικής ενός οργανισμού αντιμετώπισης της ουσιοεξάρτησης. Συμπληρώνεται τέλος με ένα σύντομο παράρτημα που περιγράφει συνοπτικά τη μεθοδολογία που ακολουθήθηκε για τη συγκεκριμένη εφαρμογή.
