Αντικείμενο της παρούσας Διατριβής είναι η ανάπτυξη μιας νέας τεκμηριωμένης τεχνικής της μη-γραμμικής Στατικής Ανάλυσης που να είναι κατάλληλη για τη σεισμική αποτίμηση πλάστιμων ασύμμετρων κτιρίων Οπλισμένου Σκυροδέματος στη στάθμη επιτελεστικότητας της Επικείμενης Κατάρρευσης. Κύριος στόχος της υπόψη τεχνικής είναι αφενός να λαμβάνεται πλήρως υπόψη η πραγματική σύζευξη των στρεπτικών ταλαντώσεων με τις μεταφορικές ταλαντώσεις των διαφραγμάτων (δαπέδων) των ορόφων που αναπτύσσονται στα ασύμμετρα κτίρια κατά τη μεταφορική σεισμική διέγερση της βάσης τους και αφετέρου να λαμβάνεται υπόψη η επιρροή των ανωτέρων ιδιομορφών στα πολυώροφα κτίρια, φαινόμενα που εμφανίζονται -συχνά έντονα- στη γραμμική περιοχή με έντονες επιρροές όμως και στη μη-γραμμική περιοχή. Τα φαινόμενα αυτά δεν λαμβάνονται επαρκώς υπόψη στους σύγχρονους αντισεισμικούς κανονισμούς με αποτέλεσμα οι τελευταίοι να υποεκτιμούν σε σημαντικό βαθμό και σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις τις σεισμικές απαιτήσεις στις ακραίες πλευρές των ορόφων και στους υψηλότερους ορόφους πολυώροφων κτιρίων. Ο παραπάνω στόχος οδήγησε στην ανάπτυξη δύο διαφορετικών διαδικασιών μη-γραμμικής στατικής ανάλυσης με στόχο την ευστάθεια του κτιρίου στην κατάσταση της Επικείμενης Κατάρρευσης. Κομβικό σημείο για την εκτέλεση και των δύο διαδικασιών είναι ο ορισμός ενός ιδεατού «Ανελαστικού» Κύριου Συστήματος Αναφοράς που ονομάζεται «Κύριο Σύστημα Αναφοράς στην Ακραία (Μέγιστη) Δυνατή Κατάσταση Επικείμενης Κατάρρευσης του Κτιρίου». Ο ορισμός του συστήματος αυτού είναι εφικτός με τη θεώρηση της χρήσης της «Τέμνουσας Δυσκαμψίας» που οδηγεί κατευθείαν στη διαρροή τις ακραίες διατομές (ή τη ακραία διατομή) όλων των δομικών μελών του κτιρίου. Η πρώτη διαδικασία μη-γραμμικής στατικής ανάλυσης βασίζεται στην εφαρμογή πλευρικών δυνάμεων ορόφων (Forced-Based) και χρησιμοποιεί ένα -σταθερό σε μορφή- φορτιστικό διάνυσμα σταδιακά αυξανόμενων πλευρικών δυνάμεων ορόφων που εφαρμόζεται έκκεντρα ως προς το Κέντρο Μάζας των ορόφων (ή ισοδύναμα ως προς το θεωρούμενο πραγματικό ή πλασματικό ελαστικό κέντρο) του κτιρίου, σε δύο διαφορετικές θέσεις, με τη χρήση κατάλληλων ανελαστικών δυναμικών εκκεντροτήτων. Επιπρόσθετα, κατά την εφαρμογή της διαδικασίας χρησιμοποιούνται δύο διαφορετικές κατανομές της τέμνουσας βάσης καθύψος των κτιρίων. Όταν λαμβάνονται υπόψη και οι τυχηματικές εκκεντρότητες, τότε χρησιμοποιούνται οι ανελαστικές εκκεντρότητες σχεδιασμού, που συνδυάζουν τις πρώτες με τις ανελαστικές δυναμικές εκκεντρότητες. Η δεύτερη διαδικασία μη-γραμμικής στατικής ανάλυσης βασίζεται στις ανελαστικές μετακινήσεις ορόφων (Direct Displacement-Based) και χρησιμοποιεί ένα κατάλληλο -σταθερό σε μορφή- φορτιστικό διάνυσμα σταδιακά αυξανόμενων καταναγκασμένων μετακινήσεων ορόφων. Αυτό αποτελείται από τρείς καταναγκασμένες μετακινήσεις σε κάθε όροφο, εκ των οποίων οι δύο είναι καταναγκασμένες οριζόντιες μετατοπίσεις του ορόφου κατά μήκος των οριζόντιων κυρίων αξόνων (του θεωρούμενου ιδεατού «ανελαστικού» κύριου συστήματος αναφοράς) και η τρίτη είναι μια καταναγκασμένη στροφή του ορόφου περί τον κατακόρυφο άξονα του θεωρούμενου ιδεατού «ανελαστικού» κυρίου συστήματος αναφοράς. Oι κατάλληλες ανελαστικές δυναμικές εκκεντρότητες καθώς και οι καταναγκασμένες μετακινήσεις ορόφων προέρχονται από μία εκτεταμένη παραμετρική ανάλυση πολυώροφων και μονώροφων κτιρίων ο/σ με τη χρήση της μη-γραμμικής δυναμικής ανάλυσης χρονοιστορίας. Σημειώνεται ότι στην δεύτερη προτεινόμενη διαδικασία με καταναγκασμένες μετακινήσεις ορόφων δεν χρησιμοποιούνται επαλληλίες στη μη-γραμμική περιοχή προκειμένου να ληφθεί υπόψη η χωρική δράση του σεισμού και αυτό επιτυγχάνεται με τη λήψη της περιβάλλουσας των αποτελεσμάτων δεκάξι χωριστών μη-γραμμικών στατικών αναλύσεων όπου στην κάθε μία απ’ αυτές οι καταναγκασμένες μετακινήσεις των ορόφων συνδυάζονται κατάλληλα μεταξύ τους. Αντίθετα, στην πρώτη προτεινόμενη διαδικασία με τη χρήση των ανελαστικών δυναμικών εκκεντροτήτων, εκτελούνται δεκάξι συνδυασμοί απλής τετραγωνικής επαλληλίας (SRSS) επί των αποτελεσμάτων οκτώ ανεξάρτητων μη-γραμμικών στατικών αναλύσεων για την κάθε μία καθύψος κατανομή της τέμνουσας βάσης, όπως στον ΕΝ 1998-1.
