This study aims to synthesize and characterize chitosan beads using the Fourier Tranform Infra Red (FTIR) spectrophotometer. The test was carried out by making chitosan beads by mixing chitosan and 0.1 M acetic acid and dropping it into 0.1 M NaOH solution to form gel beads. Based on the results of the study obtained the value of the degree of deacetylation of chitosan by 76.85% and chitosan beads by 89.32%. While the characterization of chitosan beads based on FTIR spectrophotometer showed a difference in the peak absorption of NH3 at wave number 1450.47 cm−1 with a slightly wider band on the chitosan beads while the sharp NH2 absorption band appeared in the region of 1435.04 cm−1 in chitosan. And there is an absorption peak in the region of 570.93 cm−1 which is the KBR absorption peak used as pellets in chitosan samples.
This research was conducted to determine the effect of assurelearning model based onvideo media towards chemical equilibrium materials result of XI IPA students in SMANegeri 4 Morotai Island. The research typewas experimental research using pretest-posttest control group design. The population was XI IPA students at SMA Negeri 4 Morotai Island in 2nd semester academic year 2017/2018 and the total numbers were 48 students consist of two classes. Thetechnique sampling used saturated sampling technique. The instruments were 10 items essay questions to measure students’ learning result while observation sheets for assesing affective and psychomotor domain. Data analyzed used t-test. The results showed that there was an effect on the learning results of XI IPA students in SMA Negeri 4 Morotai Island on chemical equilibrium material based on the results of the t-test obtained thisis 4.81>ttabis 2,000 with the increasing of 2.34%.Keywords: video,media, assurelearning model, students result.
Nickel mining activities in Obi Island, North Maluku Province use open-pit techniques, causing environmental problems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the environmental conditions of the mining area and evaluate the obligations of the government of South Halmahera Regency in preparing and implementing environmental management instruments in accordance with UU No.32/2009. This research is a policy research to evaluate mining activities, using the Haas & Springer evaluation model. The results showed that mining activities in Obi Island, North Maluku Province caused a decrease in the quality of the environment, due to the Government of South Halmahera Regency which was not consistent in protecting and managing the environment, especially in the mining area, this can be seen from the absence of RTRW / RPMJD KLHS Documents, implementation of the UKL / UPL AMDAL that is not yet optimal, and there is no standard for B3 waste management and B3 waste dumping to the environmental media. Thus, the local Regency Government has not been able to implement environmental law policies properly, effectively and efficiently.
The purpose of this community service is to provide knowledge about managing plastic waste through Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R). Ecobrick is one of the recycling efforts to minimize the amount of plastic waste movements, by providing knowledge and skills to PAUD Sukun teachers, South Maitara Village, Tidore Islands City in utilizing plastic waste as an educational learning medium. Respondents in this training as many as 20 people, using the lecture method, question and answer, demonstration and discussion. The results of the activity showed that the APE Ecobrick training had a significant impact on the participants, namely knowledge (knowledge) increased by 42.86%, skills increased by 44.26% and ability (ability) became 44.29%. This training is expected to help teachers to create creative and innovative APE using an environmental approach, as well as introduce students to the dangers of plastic waste to the environment, and shape their behavior to recognize and love the environment.
This study aimed to determine the total anthocyanin content and IC50 value) of antioxidants from the ethanol extract of Lobi-lobi (Flacourtia Inermisand Jamblang (Syzygium Cuini L Skeel) fruit which were analyzed using the DPPH method. by UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The research was conducted at the Environmental Laboratory of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Khairun University. The results showed that the anthocyanin content and antioxidant activity of the lobi and jamblang fruit were analyzed using the Differences in pH and DPPH methods. For lobbies anthocyanin levels are 17.99 mg/L and 4.62 mg/L. Meanwhile, for IC50 antioxidants from fruit lobbies, 50.01 g/L was obtained, for jamblang it was 91,113 g/L.
