The purpose of this study is to examine the roles of publish media in influencing women in wearing Hijab. With the publications as well as media involvement in dissemination on Hijab styles somehow propagate women in wearing Hijab. In analysis of the roles of media in influencing women in wearing Hijab, the purpose and their awareness on fashion in Hijab have been questioned. In order to determine whether media is commercializing in Hijab modernization to influences women in wearing Hijab, a quantitative analysis have been conducted over 80 women to prove such suggestion. Findings were tabulated and the results proved that media is fully utilizing their tools in influence women wearing Hijab regardless of their real intention. Media commercializing Hijab fashion to move forward in fashion line. Muslim women are still hold onto the Islamic regulations in styling up fashion. As in the modern era today, technology helps in disseminating information or updates on modern Hijab fashion towards modern Muslim women. Modification in Hijab fashion can be accepted in this era as one of fashion styles. However, the importance or the real perspectives of Hijab should be strengthen up in order for no mislead of Islam's missionary.
This study examines how social media play roles in spreading LGBT movements in Malaysia, as well as how their potential in influencing Malaysian minds on the LGBT movements. In this study, the uses and gratifications theory applied to understand how the LGBT communities use social media as way to communicate and disseminate information in order to achieve their needs and gratifications. This study has applied qualitative approach, especially using in-depth interview and observation to the social media contents of the LGBT communities. This study finds that LGBT movements are significantly growing in Malaysia. However, due to the fact of conservative Malaysian society, the LGBT communities have optimized social media for spreading the information, sharing experiences, also communicating and engaging with another LGBT movements and communities. The use of social media comes from the nature of social media itself, namely free, open, easy and cheap access, as well as no regulatory body controls their contents. In this social media movement, the use of hashtags is very important to classify their movements, to easily communicate under certain topics, to gain new followers, as well as to maintain the current members. This study also finds that social media have played important roles in disseminating LGBT information in Malaysia, as well as in shaping the minds of Malaysians along with the spreading of LGBT movements in Malaysia.Keywords: LGBT movement; social media; uses and gratification; conservative society; social media hashtags.
Communication technology usage and systematic management is important to give a good image and sustain the reputation of the organization in the globalization. As a leading organization for drugs abuse, National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) Malaysia play an important roles in the transition of public sector takes an opportunity to use online system as a platform to communicate all around Malaysia regarding to public policy and database information. Job's performance is the result of work obtained through the efforts shown by the employees for completing certain tasks in order to achieve the goals set by the government. This study aims to measure the effect of communication technology acceptance with the job performance among employees in National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA). Thus, this study integrates two main aspects in technology acceptance model (TAM) by Davis (1989) which is perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use with interactivity features. This study was used quantitative approach with paper-based questionnaire among employees in National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA). Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) version 22 to examine the correlation & hypothesis. The results reveals communication technology acceptances have a significant positive relationship with job performance. Therefore, the analyses presented in this research can be used by government agencies and communication technology acceptance to enhance employee's performance in daily tasks. The study makes a contribution to the literature on relationship of technology acceptance model and job performance especially in government agency.
