The aim of this study has been determined as development of a scale that could measure attitudes towards refugees. The related literature which highlights the importance of measuring attitudes via “desired social distance” was the inspiration source. During development process, an item pool, which targets to measure attitudes via “desired social distance” was composed, following expertise feedback and test trials it became 13 item 5th Likert type scale which will be used for reliability and validity analysis. Data have been collected from a pilot group, a test-retest group, and from two different group of volunteered participants. The pilot group was composed by 30 individuals at 2018 September at Şanlıurfa Ceylanpınar restrict (20 males). The test-retest group was composed by reaching 67 (21 females) participants at 2018 September at Şanlıurfa Ceylanpınar restrict (r = .46). The first group of participants was composed by reaching 143 participants (113 males) at 2019 Marchat Mardin Kızıltepe (Cronbachs’s Alpha=0.93). The second group of participants was 357 participants (258 males) that was collected at Şanlıurfa Ceylanpınar restrict at 2019 March. According to analysis with second sample it can be seen that the scale is a one factor scale which has 0.93 Cronbachs’s Alpha and 0.94 KMO value. According to analysis, it is thought that the scale that has been developed to measure attitudes towards refugees can be accepted reliable and valid.
