Objective: To look at the age, stage at presentation, and morphology of cervix cancer patients. Study Design: Single institutional study. Place and Duration of Study:Department of Radiology, Peoples Medical College, Hospital, Nawabshah, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Sindh, Pakistan from January 1st 2018 to 31st December 2020. Methodology: Five hundred biopsy proven cases of carcinoma cervical cancer were enrolled and age at the time of presentation, histology, and stage after diagnosis were included. Results:68.4% females with cervical carcinoma were between the age of 40 to 59 years and majority of patients were belonged to the rural area with (73.7%). 75.1% of the patients had squamous cell carcinomas, 3.3% had adenosquamous carcinomas, and 17.9% had adenocarcinomas. Female patients have been stratified by stage of the disease in which 46.2 % belongs to the stage II. Conclusion: Majority of females have squamous cell carcinoma predominance over ardenosquamous carcinoma and adenocarcinoma and stage II was the most common in the females with carcinoma of cervix. Background: Breast carcinoma is the most common cancer and leading cause of cancer related death in women world wide.Mammography is currently the gold standard method to screen & diagnose the breast carcinoma at early stage. Materials and Methods: This retrospective cross sectional study is conducted in department of Diagnostic Radiology PUMHSW.SBA. Mammography examination including MLO & CCviews performed between 1January to 31st December 2020 are included in the study Results:Total of 579 women were referred for mammogram in the department in this 12 month duration.Of these 225 ladies had no breast related complains while 354 women complained of breast symptoms. The mean age of the patients was 46 years and the most common complain was mastalgia (44%). Total 2316 mammogram examinations of 1158 breasts was performed including 900 & 1416 in screening and diagnostic settings respectively.Out of 900 screening mammogram 58 (6.4%) patients are reported BIRADS IV. Conclusions:Our study noted reduce trend of screening mammogram in Pakistan women and 6.4% potential breast cancer can be detected in asymptomatic patients by screening mammogram.
Introduction: The term "gestational trophoblastic neoplasia" (GTN) refers to abnormal proliferation of trophoblastic tissue and occurs during pregnancy. It includes hydatiform mole, invasive mole, choriocarcinoma, placental site trophoblastic tumour and epitheliod trophoblastic tumour. Patients and Methods: This retrospective study was conducted at the Department of radiology, Peoples Medical College, Hospital, Nawabshah, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sindh; the clinical & ultrasonographic records of biopsy-proven cases of gestational trophoblastic disease registered in the department from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2020 was evaluated and analysed through SPSS. Results: Total of 137 patients of biopsy proven gestational trophoblastic tumor was registered during the period. The age of the patient ranges between 15 to 50 years, the disease is most common in 21 to 30 years of age. Majority of patients belong to the rural areas (73%) in comparsion to urban area (26%).The most common tumor was hydatiform mole (76% ) followed by choriocarcinoma Conclusion: Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia are common disease in females of 21 to 30 years of age and hydatiform mole is the most frequent tumor type Keywords: Gestational trophoblastic disease, Hydatiform Mole, Malignancy, Ultrasound.
