The paper presents a new design scheme of natural gamma spectrum logging system. The system consists of two independent subsystems, including the acquisition system and the transmission system connected by CAN bus for communication, which facilitates the scalability of the data acquisition system. The probe of neutron, density and sound wave will be implemented during one well logging exploration. TCP/IP protocol is applied between the transmission system and surface system. The long-haul high-speed fiber-optic communications will guarantee the reliability of the design.
The paper presents a spectralog service instrument based on DSP processor. The instrument collects spectrum information from the well thousands of meters underground. The instrument consists of the lower computer and the communication device. The communication between the upper computer on the ground and lower computer in a well uses the Manchester code. The upper computer not only displays spectrum information on the computer, but also achieves to control the lower computer. The upper computer sends the command by a Manchester encode, the lower computer decodes the Manchester code and fulfill different tasks, including the collection and transmission of natural gamma ray spectralog, the collection and transmission of temperature information, the frequency of natural gamma ray radiation energy, etc. The spectralog service instrument is experimentally proved to be steady, reliable and effective. Keywords: DSP; spectralog service instrument; Manchester encoder and decoder I.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
