The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between site use intentions and personality beliefs of social network users. The Education faculty students at a private university in North Cyprus were informed about the research and the questionnaires were applied by the researchers to volunteer students. From total of 198 students, 143 (72.2%) were females and 55 (27.8%) males. Socio-demographic Information Form and Personality Belief Scale were used. The results show that participants who reported political opinion had significantly higher scores of schizoid, antisocial and narcissistic personality beliefs than those who did not. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to predict personality beliefs of purpose, sharing and profile information. When the t-test is examined, it is seen that commenting on only the shares of the subject variables is a significant predictor of the narcissistic personality belief. In this study, participants who have narcissistic, passive-aggressive, paranoid and antisocial personality beliefs usually and more frequently share songs on social networks. Keywords: Belief, personality, social networks, university students, social sharing.
Araştırmada, Teun A. Van Dijk'ın eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi modeli ile tecavüz haberleri incelenmiştir. Haber metinleri çözümlemelerinde tecavüzcülerin daha önceden suç geçmişi olan, düşük sosyo ekonomik düzeyden gelen erkeklerden oluştuğu, tecavüz mağduru kadınların da yine tecavüz mitlerini destekler nitelikte, eril tahhakümün arzu ettiği bireyselleşmemiş, özgürleşmemiş kadınlardan değil de üniversite eğitimi alan, çalışan kadınlardan oluştuğu görülmüştür. Araştımanın sonucu olarak medya dilinin tecavüz mitlerini, eril tahakkümü ve hegemonik erkekliği onayladığı ve körüklediği bir dil yapısı kullanmış olduğu görülmüştür.ABSTRACT Rape myths are social norms which learned and experienced in the social environment where the individual born and live Social norms determine what we should and should not do in our social lives, as well as right and wrong. The news about rape presented in the media are contain rape myths that also born from these social norms. Teun A. Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis method was used in order to find rape myths discourses. As a result personality characteristics and identity properties of rapist and also the rape victim collected in various topics. In the analysis of news texts, it was seen that the rapists were composed of males who had come from a low socioeconomic level whom has a criminal history.
This study examined the relationship between being members of social network sites (SNS) and the reasons for their use among individuals who are between 20-66 years of age. Social networking status and virtual loneliness are examined according to reasons for using SNS of participants. Researcher did a web-based questionnaire upon Facebook (FB) and reached a volunteer group of FB users and gave Social Networking Status Scale ( SNSS) and Virtual Loneliness Scale (VELS) in order to measure participants networking status and virtual loneliness according to socio-demographical variables. SNSS, gender, and age are the strongest predictors of virtual loneliness. Also, male participants, SNSS scores are significantly higher than female participants which indicates that male participants are more dependent on SNS. When time spent online increases individuals get convergence to usual habits in the virtual world. Individuals SNS usage habits effects their normal lives and make them escape to the virtual world.
This study investigates the cross-cultural differences between emotional expressivity, beliefs about emotions, and depression levels among university students from different continents, namely, Africa and Asia. Participants (n=114; n=88, Africa and n=26, Asia) were English speaking students of

The aim of this study is to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Remembered Relationships with Parents (RRP10) for Turkish university students. 373 students studying at Lefke European University participated in this research. The gender distribution of the subjects is 52.8% (n=197) for female and 47.2% (n=176) for male students. The reliability of RRP10 was assessed by internal consistency and test-retest reliability statistics. The validity of the scale was assessed by confirmatory and exploratory factor analysis and correlations between subscales and item analyses were examined. In addition, the correlation between RRP and Parental Bonding Instrument (PBI) was assessed by Pearson correlation coefficient method in order to see the criterion based validity. The internal consistency, Cronbach alpha and test-retest reliability coefficient of the scale were calculated. In order to assess the distinctive validity of the scale, a discriminant analysis was performed to determine whether the RRP10 scores of the participants who received under the cut-off score (≥10) is different than the RRP10 scores of the participants who received over the cut-off score according to the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). As a result of the factor analysis, a two-factor structure similar to the original RRP10 study was found out. No correlation was observed between RRP10 Alienation and PBI Care subscales while highly significant criterion-relationship validity was observed between RRP10 Control and PBI Control subscales and a distinctive validity was observed in the statistical assessment of RRP10 and BDI. RRP10 test-retest coefficients and internal consistency coefficients show findings on the reliability of the scale. The psychometric properties of RRP10 are found to be satisfactory and could be used to assess remembered relationships with parents. RRP10 will be valuable in establishing initiatives or psycho-educative programs in order to regulate the mother-father and child relationships.

Keywords: mother-father, alienation, control, reliability, validity, relationship
