This paper presents an underwater object detection and localization system based on multi-beam sonar image processing techniques. Firstly, sonar data flow collected by multi-beam sonar is processed by median filter to reduce noise. Secondly, an improved adaptive thresholding method based on Otsu method is proposed to extract foreground objects from sonar image. Finally, the object’s contour is calculated by Moore-Neighbor Tracing algorithm to locate the object. Experiments show that the proposed system can detect underwater objects quickly and the figure out the position of objects accurately.
This paper introduced the important role of the remote sensing satellite in remote sensing field. There existed some defects for a traditional classical AZ-EL type antenna used in tracking remote sensing satellite. The design project of Stewart manipulator antenna was presented by Stewart manipulator designing theory. The singular configuration theory of Stewart manipulator introduced position singularity, attitude singularity analysis and posture ability of Stewart manipulator was studied. The theorem of nonsingular posture was presented and proved. The nonsingular workspace area of a Stewart manipulator was determined. The antenna design based on Stewart manipulator satisfied with hemisphere airspace workspace and got the theoretical basis of realizing passing zenith tracing.
An autonomous system of the bucket wheel reclaimer is developed to improve capability of the reclaimer in dark or bad whether. It obtains the 3D shape of the pile by the laser scanners mounted the reclaimer, and extracts the landing position through computer vision techniques. All the operations of the reclaimer can be controlled automatically in the remote control room. The system can control simultaneously six reclaimers. And it has been successfully implanted to the reclaimer in the stockyards of Majishan of Bao Steel Co. and show satisfactory result.
For some disabled people can’t use hand to control the mouse, this paper designs a novel head-controlled mouse. Using accelerometers and gyroscopes as the sensitive element of the system measure the head rotation angle. The mouse is controlled as for the relationship between the head rotation angle and the mouse move distance. For mouse click operation, this article designed a software to achieve. Considering the MEMS sensor noise affect the mouse control accuracy, using the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) to fusion the data of accelerometers and gyroscopes to obtain the optimal angle estimation. Compared with only using an accelerometer or gyroscope sensor, the method proposed in this paper for angle measurement can have high accuracy and stability, thereby improving the mouse control precision and maneuverability.
In order to provide a general purpose method to search optimum solution for complex constrained engineering problems without explicit system model, a hybrid optimization strategy based on artificial neural networks (ANNs) and genetic algorithms (GAs) is proposed in this paper. This strategy combines the strong nonlinearity mapping abilities of ANNs and effective and robust evolutionary searching ability of GAs. Firstly, ANNs are utilized to model the un-known system using inputs and outputs of system. Then the direct comparison approach based improved GAs are employed to search optimal solution in the constrained design space, using the trained ANNs as the function generator of system outputs. This strategy is implemented in optimization of design variables for sheet metal flanging process. The verification results of numerical simulation and the experiments demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the strategy.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
