Developing a professional practice model (PPM) is essential for hospitals seeking Magnet® designation. The article describes the development and implementation of a PPM in a tertiary hospital that was the 1st hospital in mainland China applying for Magnet recognition. This article provides a framework for hospital administrators who wish to reference a successful process when creating their own Magnet PPMs.
Molybdenum (Mo) is an essential micronutrient for almost all organisms. Wheat, a major staple crop worldwide, is one of the main dietary sources of Mo. However, the genetic basis for the variation of Mo content in wheat grains remains largely unknown. Here, a genome-wide association study (GWAS) was performed on the Mo concentration in the grains of 207 wheat accessions to dissect the genetic basis of Mo accumulation in wheat grains. As a result, 77 SNPs were found to be significantly associated with Mo concentration in wheat grains, among which 52 were detected in at least two sets of data and distributed on chromosome 2A, 7B, and 7D. Moreover, 48 out of the 52 common SNPs were distributed in the 726,761,412–728,132,521 bp genomic region of chromosome 2A. Three putative candidate genes, including molybdate transporter 1;2 (TraesCS2A02G496200), molybdate transporter 1;1 (TraesCS2A02G496700), and molybdopterin biosynthesis protein CNX1 (TraesCS2A02G497200), were identified in this region. These findings provide new insights into the genetic basis for Mo accumulation in wheat grains and important information for further functional characterization and breeding to improve wheat grain quality.
The nervous system has the most delicate and complex structure and function in the human body. Neurological damage can lead to chronic diseases and disability with high morbidity. (Pringsheim et al., 2014) According to a Chinese epidemiological study, stroke is the leading cause of death and puts a huge burden on patients and health professionals. (Sun et al., 2013) The latest report from the American Heart Association (Benjamin et al., 2019) indicates that about 90% of stroke patients have varying degrees of dysfunction, which seriously affects the patients' psychological status, social function, and quality of life. Moreover, neurological conditions have become a global concern.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy of bilateral upper-limb training (BULT) in helping people with upper-limb impairments due to stroke or brain illness regain their previous level of function. Patients recuperating from a stroke or cerebral disease were given the option of undergoing BULT or conventional training to enhance their upper-limb function. Participants were randomly allocated to one of the several different fitness programs. Results from the action research arm test, Box and block test, Wolf motor function test, Fugal–Meyer evaluation, and any other tests administered were taken into account. Some researchers have found that exercising with BULT for just 30 min per day for 6 weeks yields significant results. There were a total of 1,411 individuals from 10 randomized controlled trials included in this meta-analysis. Meta-analysis findings revealed that biofeedback treatment outperformed conventional rehabilitation therapy in reducing lower leg muscular strain, complete spasm scale score, electromyography score, and inactive ankle joint range of motion. An analysis of the literature found that BULT improved limb use in people who had suffered a stroke and hemiplegia but it did not provide any additional benefit over unilateral training.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
