The ecological sustainability assessment of urban landscape planning plays a critical role in sustainable urban development. In view of the shortcomings of the weighting-based ecological assessment systems, this paper establishes a basic assessment model based on non-weighting method. This is achieved by building core index of urban landscape ecological efficiency and introducing a unified measurement of ecological footprint. Afterwards, we discussed the application problems of the basic models, such as boundary conditions and index system, as well as the calculation of corresponding index, and so on. The present study also puts forward the main contents for further study, including the relevance between planning factors and ecological characteristics, planning schemes and their ecological significance, assessment procedures, and so on.
In this paper, we analysed fractional dynamics behavior in metallogenic elements grade series, using detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA), with the objective to explore and understand the underlying dynamic mechanism. Our results show that the metallogenic elements grade series are the scale invariance and the long-range correlation. As in the case of element grade dynamics, the DFA scaling exponents can be used to discriminate mineral intensity.
As the ecological infrastructure, the development of the ecological function of urban landscapes is determined not only by the reasonable design on its own scale, but also by the interaction of the urban-scaled landscape system. Virtually, the planning and layout of the urban landscape system represent the reasonable position of various projects in the overall landscape structure. The current paper, combined with the landscape ecology theory, put forward the idea primarily determining the distribution of single landscape projects through the priority of single project location, as well as the selection of ecological strategic points. In considering the distribution mode and landscape index, the overall layout of urban landscape system can be adjusted and optimized by consulting the landscape connectivity index, PX, and the nearest neighbor index, NNI. This planning idea is in favor of sustaining and strengthening the continuity of the whole landscape pattern, and maintaining the general ecological security of urban system.
Urban green space is vital for the livability of a city. It is important how to utilize the vegetation on rural-urban fringes to improve the green space system of an extended built-up area. In this paper, based on the analysis of the features about vegetation on fringes in its types, dynamics, and potentials, it is argued that keeping the vegetation patches be much more indigenous, well distributed and connected, and remain this status during all the transition period should be included in the planning goals at all levels; and all the planning efforts need to be taken through an approach integrated into the planning system according to particular type or level planning could take. Some key planning strategies or measures were developed, which include functioning with the ecological potentials, embedding the ecological assessment through all the planning process, and more detailed in planning.
Green space system within a built-up area is very important to provide an ecological and livable environment. The green patches originally locate in rural-urban fringes is of contribution to the system, with the dynamics of patches controlled by urban planning. In this study, based on the analysis of the features about green patches in fringe in their types, dynamics, and potentials, it is argued that the green patches in fringe, always under a dynamic status, can be classified to three types with dissimilar ecological attributes and function; and they have much more potentials to improve the green space system of an extended built-up area. It is also suggested to constitute a set of planning mechanics to optimize the urban green space system aiming to effectively use these green patches. After some planning principles proposed, a supplemental planning method has been put forward, so as to provide an applied planning tool.
