Anahtar kelimeler: Çocuk diş hekimliği, cam karbomer, cam iyonomer SUMMARY A wide variety of materials are used for the purpose of preventive and restorative treatment in pediatric dentistry. Among these materials, are amalgams, compomers, composites, glass ionomer cements, giomers and glass carbomer. The glass carbomer material is a bioactive material made of liquid polyacrylic acid, obtained by adding hydroxyapatite and florapatite dust to nano-sized glass particles. The tolerance of glass carbomers to moisture is often preferred in pediatric dentistry. It is particularly useful for children who are struggling to maintain isolation. Glass carbomer cements have fluoride release and reloadability properties. Glass carbomer does not contain materials that are dangerous to children's health such as Bisphenol-A and organic solvents as well as advanced features such as anti-caries and mineralization by forming fluorapatite. In pediatric dentistry, glass carbomers are used as pit and fissure coverers, as restorative materials, especially in atraumatic restorative technique (ART), orthodontic band and stainless steel crown cementation The aim of the review is to give information about the properties of glass carbomer cement, a new material produced in recent years, and its use in pediatric dentistry.
