Complexes of the type [(Fe(salen))2L ] .xH20 (L = glutarate, adipate, pimelate or suberate dianion, x =0 or L --dithio oxamidate dianion, x = 2) have been prepared and studied by elemental analyses, i.r. and electronic spectra, and magnetic measurements. A dimeric structure with an octahedral arrangement of Fe In (S = 5/2) is proposed. Some of the complexes have been characterized by temperature-dependent magnetic susceptibilities, but an antiferromagnetic exchange interaction was found only for [(Fe(salen))2dta ]-2HaO (H2dta -dithio-oxamide).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
