Culture of Gigadna canaliculata Harv. juvenile germlings, by means of media enriched with digested cow manure. Ciencias Marinas 13(2); 51-58. ABSTRACI-Tetrasporophyte germlings of Gigartina canaliculata were cultivated with success during eight weeks using digested cow manure as nutrients source. Four different concentrations of the biodigested solution were used (40, 80, 120 and 160 ml/l of seawater). It was found that 120 and 16Oml of solution per liter of seawater was the best for growth, similar to the one obtained with the Von Stoch media. Cow manure as a nutrient source for seaweed culture results much more economical than traditional media.
