The way how companies can comply with the Sustainability agenda is start measuring how Sustainable each company are and it’s possible only using Digital solutions, i.e., the Sustainability analytics need to be based on the data and data need to come from the core business operations. The main objective of the study to give an outlook and high-light that the Sustainability Agenda forces the Digital Transformation and Digital Transformation of the companies accelerates achievements towards Sustainability goals. In the study the authors brought recent examples what proves Digital Transformation as an accelerator towards Sustainability and conducted the survey with 77 participants who are acting as Digital Transformation trusted advisors and representing the EMEA North region. Referring the research results the author observes overall slow movement in Digital Transformations towards addressing Sustainability targets from regular market participants, what can be as a potential subject for further detailed research with the purpose to develop potential accelerators for such transformations.
Research background: Changes have become an important topic of discussion among enterprises making it a top priority, especially in addressing sustainability concerns. No other issue is as important as sustainability from the point of globalization. Discussion is about to work intensively towards reinventing existing business models and integrating some methods to stay competitive and profitable. It requires an updated management capability not only through the modernization of processes, but also the creation of a new level of value creation within the company. The Quality Management System (QMS) can be used as a tool for reconstruction of the business activities and creation of new innovative ideas in the company, which comply with changing customer preferences, revenue mechanisms, and, finally, processes and value chains. Purpose of the article: This research aims to analyse the transformation of a business model which is affected by implementation of the Quality Management system and to find out how it influences the sustainability of a business model. Methods: In this research the authors used content analysis method with inductive and deductive approach as well as methods of selection and survey of respondents and appropriate quantitative methods to process the obtained data. Findings & Value added: The results drawn from this research provide academics and practitioners with a better understanding of impacts that an adopted QMS have on business model dimensions within an enterprise. Findings of the research show whether these impacts aid them in becoming more sustainable. This knowledge can then be applied to strategies and management skills for the purpose of achieving better modelling results.
The aim of this study was to explore and assess the point of view on digital transformations of companies who are currently in the transformation program and running digital transformation projects. The study collects data from diverse top companies across Baltics region across various industries. Within the study the descriptive researchmethod isin use. The statistical population of this study is an extended list of companies from the Coface study for Baltic top 50 ranking for 2019. The sampling for the study was based on purpose selective approach which includes 11 companies from the statistical population. The data collection was carried out by an online questionnaire and afterwards through interviews with the respondents to validate the data provided. The results of the research is the outlook created which includes a number of aspectsto be considered for future research: (1) Currently, the competence level of transformation processes in flagship companies and respectively in rest of the companies in the market needs to be improved; (2) Business demand for knowledgeable digitaltransformation experts with comprehensive modern business processes management knowledge is relatively higher rather one with pure technical expertise in cutting cutting edge technologies; (3) To boost digital transformation toward the operational concept of Intelligent Enterprise, support and guidance from the global digital transformation advisory partners is highly recommended.
Research background: Management of the complex reality - transformation to the world of the future- is often associated with discovering new directions in a company’s activities. One of these directions is the formation of beneficial partnerships aimed at working together to achieve certain goals, which in turn relate to necessary changes within the company. Change has become inevitable in every enterprise and phased management of change is becoming a daily component of administration and a part of company’s development: the speed, scale and complexity of change is increasing nowadays, and it is impossible to stop this flow. In this context it is very important to determine to what extent and in what aspects a company needs change. Purpose of the article: The aim of the research is to investigate what factors could influence and what aspects could be affected by reinventing the existing business model and establishing a new partnership-based business model within a company and what should be done to implement this change successfully. Research methods: literature analysis, semi-structured interviews and a survey. The research data was processed by continuous comparative analysis, using open coding, level 2 coding, content analysis method. Findings & Value added: the results drawn from this study could provide academics and practitioners with a better understanding of communication and change-readiness capabilities. This knowledge can then be applied to their strategies and management skills for the purpose of achieving partnership-based business model with success.
Research background: We are living in complex and uncertain times and nowadays no one is doubting the DT expediency in order to support business transformation process or to boost agility for the new reality adoption and coping with the Crisis Purpose of the article: The aim of this study was to explore and assess Digital Transformation journey by one of Europe's largest transport companies – Girteka Logistics, in change environment and under uncertainty. The study collects data from the company’s Digital Transformation program, enabled by SAP solutions, insides from the Digital Transformation program internal and external teams. Methods: Within the study empirical research with descriptive research method was carried out using qualitative and quantitative observation methods. As the study is only about one company, the statistical population represents most of the Digital Transformation program team members. The data collection happened by the online questionary and afterward through the interviews with the key respondents to validate and extend gathered data. Second part of the data gathered is from Girteka’s Digital Transformation program documentation. The data collection happened by the documentation analysis and information consolidation. Findings & Value added: As the result of the study the antifragile generic hand-on Digital Transformation program roadmap was created and number of aspects were highlighted to be considered for the potential future research, like internal transformation team competency level requirements, expert labor marker and transformation partners situation as enabler for the companies’ digital transformation, process for the digital transformation program and overall business KPI definition to be used as transformation execution success indicator.
