Development is a definite step undertaken by a country in achieving a good standard of living. Economic development and social development become a reflection of the success of the sovereign state so that it becomes a high bargaining value in international relations. Development in Brazil and Indonesia are both affected by the crisis that occurred in the world, thus presenting foreign entrapments and interventions that will affect every policy taken. The method used in this paper is the method of library research with a comparative analysis approach. Study material is taken from books and journals that are relevant to the theme of the writing. The results of this paper describe an alternative model of democratic participatory development into an effort to increase development, both in the social and economic fields. Community participation in development in Porto Alegre Brazil shows a significant change towards improving welfare, while at the same time being a lesson for Indonesia in making development policies optimally.

Online prostitution was uncovered after it was discovered that several social media accounts provided sex services that were easily accessible and at varying prices. The emergence of online prostitution has been reported as a form of resistance by some prostitutes in getting customers due to the closure of many localized places as centers of sexual transactions. Far from that, online prostitution has a troubling impact on the local community, especially for young people who are still at puberty, many of whom have fallen into the form of prostitution. This paper highlights the functional changes of prostitution that are offered with internet access and social media as functional changes in prostitution relations so that efforts are made to find the root of the problem in online prostitution. The method used in this writing is descriptive qualitative, namely by reading the supporting literature and by following the news about the development of online prostitution. The results obtained are that online prostitution is not pure prostitution for economic reasons, but rather refers to the concept of trends and lifestyles, so that the changes seen in online prostitution are structural changes in prostitution as well as irregularities in prostitution behavior that can be said as deviant behavior or pathological behavior.
This study aims to explore information on improving community welfare after converting agricultural land to oil palm land. Many of the villagers carry out land conversion to increase income as a means of fulfilling their daily needs, although in reality not all of them get welfare. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data mining was carried out by interview and documentation. Interviews were conducted with smallholders who converted land to oil palm, stakeholders and local government. The results of the interview were then triangulated with documentation obtained from library searches in the form of books, articles and previous research. The results of this study indicate an increase in the welfare of the community after land conversion but with very binding rules both from the state and from the prevailing market rules.
