Among the distinctive features of construction projects, it should be noted the complexity and specificity of the final product in the form of buildings and structures for various purposes. Investment construction projects are affected by a large number of destabilizing factors at all stages of implementation. These factors negatively affect the final indicators of the construction investment project: failure to meet deadlines, the likelihood of construction in progress, increased cost, low quality. In this regard, conducting research on the study of destabilizing factors affecting the production activities of construction company during the implementation of investment projects is relevant in difficult times for the construction industry. Construction industry, as a complex, dynamically changing system, susceptibility to various destabilizing factors, requires a constant readiness to achieve the set goals and the final result at each stage of their life cycle. This article discusses the destabilizing factors that arise during the implementation phase of an investment construction project. In order to identify and classify the negative factors that may be encountered participants construction activity, it was prepared a questionnaire for the experts who have the necessary experience in the construction industry. Based on the polls conducted, destabilizing factors were identified and ranked. Statistical methods were used to evaluate the factors studied and determine their significance and impact on the project activities. The results of the study showed that financial, technical and labor factors have a significant impact on the construction process, therefore, special attention should be paid to the development of organizational and technological measures to prevent them. This will eliminate or minimize the influence of these factors on the production activities of construction company.
The impact human and external risks in construction projects, which significantly affect the production activities and sustainable functioning of construction companies is very relevant. This article describes the human and some external risks affecting the sustainability functioning of construction companies. The authors examined internal risks staff can be exposed, as well as external risks that may affect the work of construction companies, how they are analyzed and evaluated, as well as identified there reasons to increase the competitiveness of contracting companies to manage any potential risks during construction and after operating facility, This will prevent losses and increase company’s sustainability in the labor market. this research paper aims at analyzing the impact of human risks, on sustainability and assessing, as well as determining their frequency and the likelihood of occurrence of these risks, their impact on the construction project and on a company. Mathematical and statistical methods as well as algorithms were used in this research. This research indicates that risks of all kinds shall be accurately, determined in addition to indicating the importance of each of them and assessing the likelihood occurrence of these risks. To determine methods and procedures that could decrease the chances of these risks leading to increased construction company’s sustainability in the labor market.
Recent trends in lightweight concrete manufacturing have led to a proliferation of studies demonstrating that wood aggregates can be used to produce sustainable green concrete composites. However, wood particles contain soluble substances (saccharides), which have a significant effect on the setting time of Portland cement. To attain a better understanding of this, two types of wood were treated in boiling water. After the treatment process, the resulting water (“boiling water of wood”) was used to study its effect on the initial setting time of Portland cement. The mechanical properties and the density were also investigated for concrete mixtures consisting of 0, 5, 7.5, and 10% treated wood particles (weight replacement from coarse aggregate). As a result, the effect of the wood’s soluble substances was determined and the optimum mix proportion was chosen for achieving the minimum nominal density and the best mechanical properties.
Sustainability is a characteristic manifested in the ability to maintain the necessary level of performance for construction companies when risk factors arise during the implementation of investment and construction projects. The risk factors that arise during the implementation of in-vestment and construction projects differ in nature, degree of influence, and other characteristics. Ignoring these factors and measures to manage them often leads to critical consequences in the form of disruptions in the timing of work. Risk is a combination of the probability and consequences of the occurrence of adverse events. The article considers the concept of risk as a potential possibility of occurrence of adverse situations and related consequences when exposed to these factors. Risk factors are characterized by surprise, discreteness of changes, the presence of threshold values, upon reaching which a transition to a different mode of operation is required. The article discusses the risk factors arising at the construction stage, their classification. A methodology has been developed that includes conducting a survey in the form of a questionnaire in order to collect information about risk factors that affect the implementation of investment and construction projects. Experts with experience in the construction sector were involved in the survey. The processing of the survey results made it possible to assess the significance of various risk factors in investment and construction projects. Thus, statistical and expert methods were used in the study. The results showed that financial, technical, legal, economic, managerial and natural factors have the greatest impact on investment and construction projects. It is recommended to pay special attention to the listed factors when developing measures aimed at preventing risks and their consequences. The methodology described in the study can be used by construction companies in strategic planning. The analysis of the stability of construction companies, depending on their use of various ways to counteract risk factors, allowed us to develop a number of practical recommendations to reduce the impact of the studied factors on achieving the goals of investment and construction projects.
