GIS APPLIED IN LAND USE CAPACITY SPATIALIZATION ON AREA OF AGRICULTURAL IMPORTANCEABSTRACT: This study aimed to obtain the map of slope classes and soils of Stream Santo Antonio watershed in the Sao Manuel, Sao Paulo state, to generate the map of land use capacity, and to assess the present land use, respecting their limitations. It was possible to detect areas that are being use and need greater attention and care by the owners and the government, to protect or restore the natural resources. The results obtained demonstrate that the integration of GIS tools facilitate the collection and processing of data, improve the result by allowing digital storage, facilitating the work in case of need for changes in database. The slope classes found in the watershed are flat areas (0 to 3 %) , gently rolling (3 to 6% ) and a strong corrugated (12 to 20% )represent 4059.2 ha (94.7%) of the watershed. The most significant soil found in the area is Red Latosol (Oxisol) with 3306.69 ha (77.1%). The map of soil use capacity showed the great potential of the soil, and the required conservation of resources.
