To improve the service and physicomechanical characteristics of polyolefins, a composite based on LDPE + isotactic PP has been produced with the use of butadiene-styrene and butadiene-acrylonitrile elastomers as modifiers. Tellurium was selected as the antioxidant. It was established that the composite obtained possesses high strength and deformation properties, and also a high Vicat softening point and cracking resistance. Expansion of the range of polymeric materials by modifying their properties is an important problem in plastics processing.
An examination was made of the effect of titanium dioxide (nano-TiO 2 , "Showa Denko") on the physicomechanical properties of low-density polyethylene (LDPE). It was established that LDPE specimens filled with industrial titanium dioxide TiO 2 of micron size and with nano-TiO 2 "Showa Denko" exhibit different physicomechanical properties after composite preparation and thermooxidative ageing. In spite of a certain reduction in strength and elasticity after milling and pressing, the composite material containing nanopigment exhibits higher heat ageing resistance than material containing standard industrial titanium dioxide.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
