Bei 66 an Carcinomen des Verdauungstraktes, der Atmungswege und der Brustdrüse erkrankten Patienten wurden in einem Zeitraum bis zu 2 Jahren nach der Operation die Phospholipoide und das Cholesterin des Blutes untersucht. Eine erhöhte Cholesterinämie, die sich zu Ende der untersuchten Zeitabschnitte wieder normalisierte, wurde durch Cholesterinester verursacht, deren papier‐chromatographisch untersuchte Fettsäuren Unterschiede im Sättigungsgrad zeigten. Aus Phospolipoiden und Lecithin bzw. Sphingomyelin waren signifikante Rückschlüsse auf Entstehung und Verlauf der Geschwulsterkrankungen nicht abzuleiten.
