Monomers of methacrylic series have been synthesized: methacrylamide, methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate and high methyl methacrylate from methacrylonitrile. High methacrylates based on methacrylonitrile and individual aliphatic alcohols from C 2 to C 16 were synthesized. Optimum conditions for their synthesis are found at which the yield of methacrylates is 95-97% of theory, considering the initial methacrylonitrile. The high-molecular compounds, poly-N-substituted acryl amides, which are used as viscous additives for petroleum oils, glues, adhesives, antiaqing agents of the protective rubber mixture, anticorrosive coatings, corrosion inhibitors et c. were obtained by radical polymerization
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
