An experiment was conducted to study the effect of different concentrations of gibberellic acid, spacing and nutrient sprays on vegetative and floral parameters of snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus cv. Rocket Pink) at Urban Technological Park, Habak, Srinagar, J&K, India during two successive years in 2017and 2018. Eighteen different treatments with 3 concentrations of gibberellic acid (0 ppm, 100 ppm and 200 ppm), 2 spacings (15 cm x 15 cm and 15 cm x 20 cm) and nutrient sprays (3 sprays, 4 sprays and 5 sprays) were replicated thrice in Completely Randomized Block Design.

An experiment was carried out on cut flower Peony cv. "Sarah Bernhardt" to study the effect of pulsing with sucrose and silver thiosulphate on vase life and other parameters. In the trial, sucrose at 3 levels of concentration (0.00, 2.00 and 4.00%) and silverthiosulphate (STS) at 4 levels (0.00, 0.50, 1.00 and 2.00 mm) were tested alone as well as in combination. The experiment was laid out in completely randomized design replicated thrice. The sucrose, 4% and STS 1.0 mm individually recorded higher vase life of 8.93 and 9.36 days respectively. Whereas, their combination (Sucrose 4% × STS 1.0 mm) was significantly superior to the rest of combinations in keeping higher water balance and fresh weight resulting in highest vase life of 10.05 days. This was followed by sucrose 4% × STS 0.50 mm and sucrose 2% × STS 1.0 mm recording 9.57 and 9.18 days of vase life respectively.
Seeds of China aster cv. Powderpuff were subjected to two conditioning techniques viz, hydroconditioning and halo-conditioning at different levels of concentrations and subjected time durations, constituting a total of 16 treatment combinations (P1 - P15) along with control (P0). Hydro-priming for 12 hrs and the halo-priming with 2 % KNO3 for 12 hrs significantly improved germination, mean germination time, germination index, germination rate index and growth attributes of China aster cv. Powderpuff. Hydropriming being simple economical and eco/subject friendly and safe is recommended for effective germination and growth of China aster cv. Powderpuff.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
