A facile hydrophosphonylation of alkenes by phosphites promoted by potassium carbonate was developed. The reaction features include easy handling, environmental friendliness, and avoidance of the use of strong bases. A variety of alkenes are tolerated in this reaction, with moderate to excellent yields.
A series of new benzimidazole derivatives were designed and synthesized. Their chemical structures were testified by 1 H NMR, infrared spectroscopy (IR), mass spectrography (MS), and elemental analysis. Their potent antiviral properties indicated the prospect of new drugs. Compound 13, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22, and 23 were identified as novel antivirus with much better selective activity and inhibitory activity than the comparable ribavirin against Coxsackie virus B 3 in VERO cells.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
