The disinterest of the young generation in agriculture carries out awareness in providing agricultural education from an early age. Agri-food education and agripreneurship can be solutions to awake the youth’s awareness that the agricultural sector is also a profitable business. Moreover, the positive perception of farmers as a profession also needs to be grown, especially for early age students. This present study was conducted to increase the interest, competence, and entrepreneurial spirit in agriculture through the implementation of agri-food education and agripreneurship. It was a case study, and the participants were 30 students of 5th grader in SD IT Al-Anwar Mojosari. There were three stages involved: 1) Preparation, 2) Implementation of the Program, and 3) Evaluation. For the data collection, a survey was used as an instrument in this study. The results have shown that there were the high enthusiasm and participation of the students during the activities which are indicated the positive effects of the implemented program.
Alas Purwo National Park is a protected national park located in Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia. The Alas Purwo National Park currently allows for a variety of activities, including tourism and scientific study. In its development, the tourism industry must consider environmental, economic, social, and cultural factors, among others. Additionally, Alas Purwo National Park is a state-protected park, thus environmental sustainability must be considered. The aim of this research was to investigate how people interpret the notion of environmental stewardship. This researcher employed descriptive qualitative methods with primary data sources from informants who are Bedul and Alas Purwo Banyuwangi region residents engaged in economic activities. Determination of informants utilizing semi-structured interviews and open-ended questions based on snowball sampling. The results of the study indicate that the community in Alas Purwo National Park already appreciates the importance of caring for the environment and contributing to its preservation. Moreover, managers always maintain the ecosystem and advise visitors not to harm the native flora and wildlife.
Using a discrete choice research method, this research aims to determine visitors' preferences and willingness to pay (WTP). This study evaluates the entrance price, restaurant facilities, the quality of the offered information, and the tour price (per person). The selected respondents were tourists who had visited an ecotourism place at least once. The study yielded the highest WTP based on the desire for restaurant availability in the tourism region of Jolotundo. Tourist satisfaction as indicated by preferences and WTP is crucial data for tourism area managers to use in order to better meet visitor expectations.
The rapid influx of tourists to the biosphere reserve is feared to cause major environmental problems. In the meantime, one of the most important parts of the sustainable growth of tourism in biosphere reserves is the acceptance and tolerance of tourists shown by residents. This study attempts to assess and validate the local residents’ attitude towards the sustainable tourism development in Alas Purwo National Park’s Biosphere Reserve Area using a sustainable tourism attitude scale. This park is located in Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia, a popular tourist destination designated as a biosphere reserve area by UNESCO. This survey has been completed by a total of 142 local residents in the surrounding area of this biosphere reserve. Through exploratory factor analysis, the dimension of sustainable tourism was determined. The sustainable tourism attitude scale is a valid and reliable for examining residents’ attitudes toward of sustainable tourism development. It also demonstrates that locals have an optimistic outlook on the growth of sustainable tourism, even in places like Indonesia where it is still growing. By understanding how locals feel about sustainable tourism development, policymakers, developers, and tourist managers will be able to establish strategies and manage tourism development effectively, particularly in biosphere reserves.
From various perspectives, many researchers have studied ludruk, a traditional folk play originating from East Java Indonesia. However, there has not been any study focusing on how ludruk responds to the COVID-19 pandemic. This article examines how kidungan (song in ludruk that has poetical structure and transmits valuable messages) in ludruk virtual articulates the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic and promotes health protocols in Indonesia. It also investigates how kidungan is used as a medium to convey religious values to people facing those terrible effects. The method used in this research is qualitative research that focuses on textual and contextual analysis on kidungan presented by two ludruk troupes, namely Karya Budaya from Mojokerto and Armada from Malang, that held the show virtually in February and April 2021 on YouTube. The analysis indicates that ludruk Karya Budaya and ludruk Armada presented kidungan to depict the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 pandemic, especially on low-class people, and to convey the advice to comply with health protocols to avoid the spread of the Coronavirus. It also represents a religious belief in dealing with the virus, reminding people to pray to God so that the COVID-19 pandemic will vanish.
