Аннотация. В статье на материале драмы Ю. О'Нила «Все Божьи дети имеют крылья» исследуются причины трагического положения человека в обществе. Как проникновенный психолог, О'Нил исследует процесс превращения социальных норм законов во внутренние психологические нормы каждой отдельной личности. Представляется, что проблема расового антагонизма решается драматургом как часть этической проблемы взаимоотношений людей в эгоистическом и хищническом мире. Автором статьи выявляются художественные особенности драмы, отражающие принципы мышления О'Нила и являющиеся отображением его мироощущения. Неторопливое начало представляемых сцен сменяется высоким психологическим накалом, создаваемым при помощи концентрации всех социальных проблем во взаимодействии двух людей, потенциально способных к идеальному союзу любви, который не осуществляется в силу социальных условий.
