Abstract: During Ouro Preto's Carnival, São José Street is taken by LGBTTQI people (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, travesti, queer and intersex). Therefore, the objective of this article is to understand the processes of appropriation of São José Street and what this can reveal to us about sociability, gender and sexuality norms in the urban-festive context. More precisely, it is a question of discussing the relationship between sexuality and territorial occupation. For this purpose, ethnography and semi-structured questionnaires were applied to the locals and were used as research methods, from the 2014 to 2017. It is considered that the street became a place of sexuality. More than just São José Street: a queer space. São José Street is a queer street, due to the heterogeneity of people who have concentrated on it and occupied it to live the ephemerality of the carnival: black, queer, and trans bodies that crossed it and turned it into a body-street. The street was, at first, reinvented and reorganized every year, in a
