With the aims to overcome the high thermal shrinkage of conventional polyolefin separators and improve the electrochemical properties of lithium ion batteries, a nano-composite polymer electrolyte membrane (NCPE) is attempted by introducing highly dispersed nano-TiO 2 hybrid doped poly (vinylidene fluoride-10 hexafluoro propylene) (PVDF-HFP) into glass fiber nonwoven, which is easy available and low cost. The physical and electrochemical properties of the obtained NCPE are characterized with SEM, thermal shrinkage, AC impedance, charge-discharge tests and cycling. The results show that the NCPE possesses higher porosity and higher thermal dimensional stability temperature than conventional PP separator. Besides, the electrochemical properties are improved significantly, such as liquid uptake, ionic 15 100 layer was prepared by casting the slurry made from LiCoO 2 powder (85wt %), graphite conductor (5wt %), acetylene black (5wt %) and PVDF binder (5wt %) in solvent NMP (Nmethyl-2-pyrrolidone).
