AbstractWe looked into the complicating disease after the medical treatment for childhood dermal melanocytosis with two types of Q-switched laser. This research indicated that Q-switched ruby laser is more likely to cause complications significantly, compared with Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. Hypopigmentation is the most common complication. Such complications occur with high frequently in aberrant mongolian spot rather than nevus of Ota.
While the length of anesthesia time was reported as a factor of complication occurrence in the past, there has been no report on the extremity and the Q-switched Nd: YAG laser as significant complication factors.

AbstractWe enrolled 152 infants aged 1 to 42 months old with infantile hemangioma by laser treatment in Tokyo Women's Medical University Medical Center East Plastic surgery from January 2011 to September 2016. This time, we investigate complication of infantile hemangioma by laser treatment. The risk factor of it is concerned to be infantile hemangioma area ≥4 cm 2 , number of times ≥6, premature baby.
