The development of Muntok could not be separated from the long historical story of its original name. This research is presented the background of Wan Akub's arrival in Muntok and his role in the government and economy in the 18th century. This study uses historical methods emphasizes on the biographical approach. Wan Akub is the head of government in Muntok who was sent by the Palembang Sultanate as well as the head of tin mining. Some of his policies were to open an irrigation system or help the tin mining process in Muntok as economic resources for the locals. There were various policies that had been made a considerable influence in Muntok. He imported tin miners from Johor and built clay fortresses to reduce ethnic disputes in Muntok as well introduced tin tiban regulations. He also initiated the distribution of tin products as a form of remuneration. In addition, the migration of Wan Akub's relatives from Siantan left for Bangka acquired by new skills in cloth weaving technique called Cual.
Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan sosialisasi upaya pencegahan Covid-19. Wabah Covid-19 sudah lama merebak dua tahun ini di Indonesia. Masyarakat perlu mengetahui beberapa upaya pencegahan Covid-19. Salah satu cara yang dilakukan untuk mencegah infeksi Covid-19 adalah dengan mencuci tangan dan menggunakan handsanitizer. Banyak masyarakat yang belum memahami bagaimana cara mencuci tangan dan menggunakan handsanitizer yang baik dan benar termasuk siswa dan siswi di SD Negeri 136 Palembang. Oleh karena itu, Tim melakukan kegiatan sosialisasi pengetahuan dan memberikan bantuan pencegahan Covid-19 di SD Negeri 136 Palembang. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui ceramah dan demonstrasi. Hasil dari pengabdian ini berupa terlaksananya sosialisasi dan memberikan penyuluhan mengenai cuci tangan dan pelatihan penggunaan handsanitizer yang baik dan benar.
This article is to find out the social layers of the Palembang people which began to emerge since the existence of the Palembang Sultanate. In addition to the natives, in the 19th century the population of Palembang had several ethnic groups that had a distinctive settlement in Palembang, namely Chinese, Arab, and Malay-Javanese Palembang. However, the social stratification of this society is focused on the Malay-Javanese community (Ilir Palembang area). During this sultanate, the population was divided into two major groups, namely the aristocratic aristocracy and the common people. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between layers of Malay-Javanese society (Ilir area of Palembang) and their role in each area of social stratification of society. This research is qualitative in nature using literature studies and interviews. The results showed that the people of Palembang, especially Malay-Javanese, had social layers, the area of social stratification of the people of Palembang had a role as a production area for the Palembang Sultanate Period, the Malay-Javanese people of Palembang had titles that determined the Goo-gook area, and Palembang community relations, especially Malay-Javanese. with immigrant communities such as ethnic Arabs, Chinese, and Indians they live side by side with high tolerance.
