We propose this VF associated with late r'/ST elevation in the precordial leads and influenced by vagal activity as a new possible mechanism of idiopathic VF.
: The root canal contents of 14 necrotic pulps with periapical radiolucent areas were examined bacteriologically. In a previous report, the ratio of positive cultures from cases of necrotic pulps without radiolucent areas was 72.7 %. In this present experiment, however, microorganisms were isolated from all the cases. These results indicate that the bacteria are closely related to bone resorption in the periapical region. Almost all isolates were obligate anaerobes (in 9 cases, all isolates were anaerobes). Among the anaerobes, Peptostreptococcus, Eubacterium and Bacteroides were predominant and these were rarely isolated from the root canals of necrotic teeth without radiolucent area. Eubacterium alactolyticum and Peptostreptococcus micros were most prevalent species. These bacteria were also isolated from root canal filled teeth with acute periapical pathosis. Therefore, it was concluded that the above bacteria may exert an important influence on the progress of periapical pathological conditions with bone destruction.
Acid-tolerant bacteria in the salivary flora were examined using anaerobic blood agar low ered in pH by lactic acid. Colony-forming units on blood agar reduced with a decrease of pH. Fac
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
