evidence showing that upon excitation the aryl-vinyl bonds in 1,2-diaryl olefins assume more double-bond character,69•70 diminishing the amplitude of torsional excursions about these bonds. In fact, as drawn in Figure 1, the potential energy curves with the well minimum at 0°torsional angle about the central bond are consistent with a planar *t* geometry. From a planar equilibrium geometry, isomerization is equally likely by a clockwise (69) For reviews, see: (a) Scheck, V. B.; Kovalenko, N. P.; Alfimov, M.
On the basis of the hypothesis that sulfonanilide moiety had a control effect on clubroot of crucifers caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae, newly synthesized benzenesulfonanilides with various substituents were evaluated for the control of this disease. In general, 2-chloro-4-trifluoromethylanilide and 2-chloro-4-nitroanilide derivatives showed a relatively high efficacy. Among them, flusulfamide (21, 4-dichloro-a, a, a-trifluoro-41-nitro-m-toluenesulfonanilide) was one of the most active derivatives. The fungicidal activity of flusulfamide and its related compounds is discussed in this paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
