In this letter, a novel frequency-reconfigurable substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) bandpass filter (BPF) based on gravity field is proposed. By inverting the proposed filter, the liquid metal would flow into or out of the non-metallic via-holes under the influence of gravity, so that the filter centre frequency can be switched from 1.76 GHz (4.54%) in state 1 to 2.02 GHz (5.94%) in state 2, and the insertion losses are maintained at 2.6 dB and 2.4 dB, respectively.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
